Anyone have problems when dynoing there LD9 getting a RPM reading? I have a autometer shift light hooked up and know the wire for RPM reading. When I had the car on the dyno they had issues getting a proper RPM reading. When they had it connected to the same wire the shift light is it was reading 3600 when the car was at 1000. I thought it was something in there set-up. Any ideas?
I want to get torque readings next time, but need some insight.

do you have a tach pickup in the fuse box in the engine comp?if you do ,it is in front of the first fuse , in the front of the fuse box. i think it is a 30 amp, green.there is one pine their,it is for the tach

No. I think that was only in like 96-98 or something like that.

Can somone please specify which pin exactly it is amd how you would get the signal from it?

I have used the purple/white wire, a brown/white wire, #1 injector harness, and when all else fails, a roller tach(dyno dynamics)...

If I remember correctly I used the pink wire that plugs into the IDI cover.

Have a pic of the location Josh?
Yes I do, but actually I'm wrong technically. The ppl/wht wire is actually the raw 7X reluctor wheel voltage. So this would give you very speratic/wrong readings if your sensor is looking for a direct swuare wave referencing ignition events only. What you can do is build a quick 1N400X diode bridge across the coil inputs from the ICM and have that sent out to the dyno. Radioshack will have all the parts and can be done very quickly.

I donlt want to build anything. I know my car has been done before on a a few dyno's and never had a problem. I know others have done it as well. What wires was used? Does anyone know is there settings in the dyno's computer system that needs to be changed?

im not sure which wire i used last time, but u can definitely just use one of the wires going into the harness for the idi cover, i used one wire and it gave me the same thing u got 3600, then we tried two more and then found the right one, u just have to clamp onto one of the wires going into the harness, it will work, and thats the easiest way
if it can't win a race it better win a show
if you have the 2.2 coil swap done you can just put it on plug wire for cyl #1

This was tried no success.
