Rear main seal leak only mechanical issue
is that bad? im looking at a jbody 98 with that as the only issue? am i looking at a possible lemon

? Wrong forum to begin with.. and why would that make it a lemon? Ive had cars whoes main's have started leasking 20k miles to one that wasnt leaking(buddies 96z24) who had 170k miles with no leak. So i doubt just because its leaking... thats its a lemon

Its not that hard to do depending on your konwledge, requires pulling the motor from the car.
