Is this possible?

I have put a turbo in my 2000 Cavalier but i cant afford to get it tuned right now. Is it at all possible for me to be able to tune it by ear just for a temporary amount of time until i can get the money to have it done right?

Save your money and contact me when you are ready John. I know we talked about it before, but as I told you, I will do you right. I will also do the 2Bar swap on yours since its a 2000 and I know it will work. I know I am not the cheapest, but I will make it right for you. Let me know....

Go to this man. Put your turbo parts in the closet until you have the money for tuning. Then have Ryan tune your car. I have a 2 bar map sensor for sale as well.

no what i meant by tuning by ear is that when i put the pedal down about half way the car will miss and stutter because of the fuel to air ratio. so i didnt know if i could adjust that by ear so that it wouldnt miss anymore just for the time being.

By the time your ear hears it...it is too late. Your motor will be toast.

If you however got an aeromotive FPR (or what ever brand) that raises fuel pressure1 psi for 1 psi of boost you probable wouldn't BLOW the motor but its possible if you dont really ever get on it until its tuned right to keep a turbo set up in the car just keep it out of boost as best as you can. but thats just my $ .02.

you tune with AFR read out and an EGT sensor, and ideally on a dyno.

if you can't do that, then don't mod your car. that easy.

even with all the right tools, if you half ass it, you will be replacing your engine, period.
if you can't afford the tuning, then pull the crap off your car until you can.

the right way is the only way.

You can run it without tuning, if you stay out of boost.. but then there is no point in having the turbo in.
