Tuning my Car?
Saturday, January 16, 2010 10:22 PM
Okay i have an 02 z24 cavalier which is right now in the shop because it's knocking.

Anyways for some reason my top speed can only be 105mph? Which is not fast enough for me. Why doesn't my car have rev limiter? (or my car probably wouldn't be in the shop right now)
The car is 5 speed.

The reason i want to go faster is because by the time i hit 105 some civic passes me up and obviously he thinks he has won the race because i can't go any fast. (I don't have a death wish)

Sad thing is my old 95 civic d15 did 110mph. What wrong with my 2.4 d9?

1) Your car has a rev limiter.
2) Your car has a speed governor because retards like you drive that fast on public roads.
3) Your car doesn't hit anywhere near the governor in the 1/4 mile.
4) The Civic obviously passes you way before hand, which is why he thinks he won. You don't have much in the way of mods to your car which warrant any modification of the governor. If it did, you'd know how to get rid or it.

You Sir, and I say this with all due respect, sound like you are a big piece of sh!t. I have been to your town (Seneca SC) as I have family there. Most the people there are nice respectable people. Its sounds like you are a waste of sperm. I am guessing the better part of you went running down your dad's leg, or your mom may have swallowed it. Either way, You are the reason abortion should be legal until the age of 18. Based on your birthday, if this was allowed we could fix the problem! Like I said, with all due respect.

Good Day Sir......

Keep it there. And read this----> http://www.j-body.org/faq//80/

Also, if you don't have a death wish, then why race on the street? That's usually what results, whether it's your life or someone elses...and when it does happen you will join the countless others who have the pleasure of living with the guilt the rest of there lives who then spend their time on forums like this persuading others to not make the same mistake.

Remember: A smart man learns from his mistakes, but a wise man learns from others' mistakes. That is all.

OP:

BTW, I'm one of the few people here on the .org who actually legitimately do not have a governor on their car. 99% of all people on this board, still have one. Even those trapping 110+ in the 1/4.

To the OP again.. I am not going to email you back. No point in it. I am going to tell you that I have forgot more than you will ever learn, and your response is a perfect example of why I posted what I did. Don't get too caught up in your make believe internet bad@ss/hard@ssness.... It just helps us bring you down easier.....

I guess my biggest question to the OP is this: why would you replace a 95 Civic d15 that does 110mph with an 02 LD9 that only does 105mph? It just totally defies logic, and goes against your badass street-racer style.

Apparently he doesn't like to reply on the forum, just individually to members, unless hes already been banned for the whole speed govonor thing

Um a d9 is a cavalier motor dumb ass I said the d15 is my civic d15 was a jdm motor for Honda I was complaining because my d15 a 1.5 liter motor does faster than a 2.4 d9 motor

I never said you put the LD9 in the civic. I was implying you should have kept the civic, or got another civic so that you wouldn't be going through trouble on our forum.

Ok - HPtuners is 500-650 dollars and it will do everything you want and more. Other than telling you to kill yourself and/or use the search button, I can be no more helpful than that...

In short, NO.

The governor is permanantly written into the program. Under no circumstances can it be removed from the program in the computer. If it was, the computer would lock up and kill the engine because there are a number of things that point to that section of the program.

My car doesn't have a governor because it does not rely on that program to run the engine.

No I will not tell you how to get around the governor. A J-body isn't safe as it is at 40mph, let alone triple that speed. No need to give someone advice on how to drive around a death machine.

However, I will give you some hope. With very little education you can get around the governor on your own. Remember that computers aren't very smart, they'll only do what you tell them to do. And they won't do something if you don't tell them to do it. Not telling it everything that's going on will also help you get around variables like what you're seeking. Nothing more I can say.
