What is the easiest cheapest way to get 6800-7000 rpm in a stock 2.2 ecotec? I dont need a big tune just a little more revs>
Easiest/cheapest way would be to use HPT and turn up the rev limiter. Though, that's probably not the BEST way to do things, it is the cheapest/easiest.
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick
Is there a stock ecotec cpu that is from a different model or car that I can use that may have a higher rev limit stock? \
What would be a ruff price for getting all I need from HPT to tune?
there is no power up there...

Don't lie, most people know vtec is disabled until 7400rpm.

Truth, all the power is between 7400-9000, it's a little known Eco secret.
Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
This is a dirt car on a 3/8 oval and we need a little more revs to avoid using 3rd gear with very small tires, and i'm not looking for more power but to keep our revs up out of the turns...
HPT is about your only option.
and many people rev stock valve springs to 7k with out issue.
and im sure that just the gearing would be worth it being able to go up another 800 rpm. there is still power there just not any more of it.
SS-J, u sound consistent with what ive read. ty
7000k is what we need...

Im sure if your circle track racing that there are rules and stipulations to modifying the car. So opening up the computer and simply advancing the timing and getting the fueling dead on might give you the edge among other things.
Find someone local to you with hp tuners any pay them 100 bucks for the credits to do it for you.

Put the LE5 intake manifold on first... (if youre allowed to)

Well hell even if he's not 'allowed' to swap mani's w/ the LE5, I doubt they would catch it in inspection seeing as the naked eye can't see the difference. Add timing and fuel and ya it'll make a difference up top. My NA tune took +9* from stock timing @ 6,850rpms on 91oct.

^ 4 posts? lol anyway not to sound dumb, but whats the le5 intake mani? like what years or how do you tell the difference?
horsepower is the force that determines at what speed you hit the wall, torque is the force that determines how far you take the wall with you after you hit it.
The intake manifold off the 2.4L LE5 Ecotec.

ah, better flowing im assuming?

The 2 manifolds are very different to the naked eye if you've seen both side by side. Hpt will give you the edge definitely. 99% chance if you swap manifolds the inspectors wouldn't notice, that's where it counts
