Ok,
well i finally got around to installing the software and trying to license my 2k1 2.4l cavy. And its keeps saying invalid vin/OS pair when i flash-read . I saved all the vcm suite info and sent it to the support@hpt but, did everybody have to do that? cause now i have to wait from the to reply rather then just start tuning.
and does this happen everytime you try to register a car?
thanks
Nate

Shifted,
explain what u mean by cal number yet. U mean that havent had a 01 z24 try to use the software yet? or b/c it has a dealership gm s/c reflash.
thanks

Pretty much, each OS has an ID number in it, these ID numbers are updated every time GM releases a new version of the code. There are many versions, even within a single model year for the same vehicle. HPT adds these ID's to the supported software list as they pop up with customers. It takes a while to accumulate all the OS ID's, so you just happen to be the first 01 with that particular OS ID, and they need to tell the software, for that VIN and OS ID, to use a certain definition file so it can correctly edit your ECU.
BTW, I read your post on HPT, I don't think you installed the right version, because your version number is still 2.1.12, you should be running 2.1.13 if you installed an updated one that Chris sent you.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
k. makes sense..but really sucks. How long does it take to have them work it out the right pair?
ya he emailed e 2.1.13. i reinstalled it and it still didn't work. same 'invalid vin./os pair'. However, i did upload the right text file in htp forums this time.
