What I would like to know is this..... I have a 2002 2200 motor with an AEM cold air intake and will be putting a header on it soon. I just got done porting and polishing an extra head that I had and so here is the question. Will the stock ECU computer support this and be able to adapt to this? I know anytime I do something I should get it tuned with HP tuners but is it really that important or even necessary? Is it going to kill my Mile pers gallon?
an hpt tune probably wouldn't hurt but you don't absolutly have to with a header
You take a women and X her by PSI devide the legs and you can then juice the car......LOL
Yes the stock ECU will handle it fine, those few mods arent enough to really justify HP tuning it
If anything the mods should increase your MPG
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
so the nice ported head will be fine on the stock ecu
when you start changing cams and compression ect....
you need to tune

No that shouldn't bother the Ecu or the MPG as long as your not floored all the time lol. I find you get better acceration and thats before the head!!!
