Megasquirt + Stock ECU question

Just curious real quick on this. If you run Megasquirt-II to control fuel and timing. Will the stock ECU continue to do things, like... turn on the cooling fan at appropriate times? And I'm guessing it still moves the tach and speedometer appropriately?

yea stock ecu still does all those things.... it will also throw codes because the timing and fuel stuff is missing and you could use hp tuners to clear them

I set mine up so the ecu still sees a resistance for the injectors and I plan on doing the same for the ignition. The only codes I throw are from running too rich, and I've had someone with HPT turn those off for me.

yes it will.

You don't need msII to run fuel + spark..

I already got MS-II with the 3.0PCB. There's more advantages to the MS-II than just fuel and spark.

That's ok, I know which wire under the hood goes to the check engine light. That'll be taken care of real quickly.

lol I don't live in a area that has emissions checks, lucky me I'm just going to us MS-2 or MSNSE for fuel and spark and let the factory computer have the rest. but I'll trick it into thinking it still has control over fuel and spark.

Just cut the wire going to the CEL. That'll be easier that trying to trick the ECU.

how would you go about tricking the ecu for spark i know with fuel you out resistors in the line but what do you do for spark
