Hey so im new but this hptuners sounds like a good idea, but i have some questions. I have a 2.4L auto cavy with the 2.3 H.O manifold swap, obx header, secret cams, 56mm throttle body, and shift plus kit should i get this with these parts and will it help to increase my horsepower. also for the people that have the set up how easy is it to use.

Cams, alone is reason for the ability to tune.
Ive had it for about a week, started reading the day i ordered it.
Love it, except my cam grinds are for 3500-8000rpms, and hptuners lacks tuning past 7,000RPMS.
However ive found it easy to figure out, at first i was so overwhelmed and thought i'd never catch on, but it comes to you. Once you have the program you can answer a ton of questions yourself.
If you ask me, ANY car can benefit from the ability to fine tune, since EVERY engine is different. But with your mods you should definetly get it

But also know that the ability to tune your car is worthless without wideband, not to mention dangerous. So order a wideband with 0-5v outputs and HPtuners PRO so you can datalog, which is essential for proper tuning
Im still a tuning n00b as well, so i may be corrected on a few things

1) go to dyno
2) pay the 30-40 bucks to get their wide band installed
3) do a baseline run
4)adjust AFR or timing (whichever method you prefer, or the shop prefers)
5)do another run and see what has happened to your AFR, KR, HP, TRQ, etc,
6)repeat as necassary till you are happy with the results, there are lots of extra HP to pick up with proper tuning
ei, I was at the dyno, stevefire, farmerz24, and some others were there, and we watched a gm stage 2 ecotec 2.0 do a baseline, and run 235-240WHP his AFR's (gm's tune) where from 10-13 and power showed the dips, he had done a "custom" tune on private property with his own wideband, and just changing the tune he gained over 40WHP, which netted 280WHP. (I understand this is a different application, but that is one example that came to mind)

nothing your going to need for an NA application. theres really very little use, its just an 02 sensor that can read very acuratley. but you dont need it, your car can hit stoich very easy, and does not need to be played with in terms of fuel. however spark is another thing all together.

A "wideband" is an oxygen sensor system that reads and displays the actaul A/F ratio the engine is running. It is different from a narrowband setup that all cars have from the factory because it can read the whole range of A/F ratios an engine can run vs. on a small window of them as the OE system does.
While there are ways to tune without one, none of them have anything to do with any car being NA or FI or other.
A wideband makes the whole job of tuning much easier and very verifiable.
I would never tune without one.
