Kinda lean with HRC Stage 2

Like it says I'm kinda lean right now but not terrible. Reason I'm having probs is that I had a bum injector now its replaced. So I've never actually seen how the car should really look at WOT with the wideband. I'm currently running between 7-8 psi boost on a 2002 Eco.

What I'm seeing is about 12.6-12.8 :1 around 4-5K rpm, but here is where I'm not sure. The wideband says it gets leaner approaching redline. I'm seeing numbers in the 13's range. This kinda worries me. I'm pretty much out of adjustment with the fuel regulator and there are no dicernable leaks anywhere. Anyone else ever experience this? I would really like to get the AFR to about 12.0:1 to be safer. Plus I was scheduled for the dyno this weekend so I'd really like to get the tune better and make the most of it.

Thanks to everyone.

You should be worried those are dangerous #s for AFR, your knock sensor is prob going ape@!#$, and its typical that it will get leaner up top then richen back down a tad after 5500-6000

11:5 to 12:5 is the ideal range, 11.8 is a pretty nice AFR to shoot for thats what you should be getting under boost, you may be able to make a tad more power bringing it up from 11.8 but keep an eye on knock retard, or get something that you can monitor knock with

As for how to adjust for more fuel on that ass backwards FMU setup im not really sure, Hahn seems to rig things differently than most ppl, something probably isnt hooked up right the kit should be able to supply enough fuel to get the job done, im sure a phone call to them might solve some issues

That is the problem, I can't get any more fuel...LOL. Hahn told me to check a seal in the FMU, the saddle seal I think. I'm not sure exactly which it is yet, but I doubt its bad. I just need a bit more fuel and I'll be happy. Hahn told me my numbers aren't the best, but they said its ok to be where I'm currently at.

ok?

Not monitoring knock retard and running AFRs of 12.5+ WILL be fatal to your motor, if thats what Hahn's support told you they are even stupidier than I originally gave them credit for.

If I were you I'd turn that boost down as low as it can go and stay out of it until you can get someplace that can make things right.

I had my camaro with a 355 and 125 h.p. N2O dynoed and my AFRs were around 13.3 to 13.5 at w.o.t.. When we did the first run on motor (I knew the car was a little lean) it read 15.0 before I even hit 4500 rpms. Now thats lean !!! If you are in the high 12s afr I would not be too concerned. I think going into the 11s afr is a little fat.

You realize nitrous goes into the engine stone cold whereas boost goes in hot and only gets hotter. You tune for them completely differently, since the combustion temps are different amongst other factors.

13.0 under boosting conditions is bad, period.

Well guys I did get them into the 11's and 12's just barely, but now my fuel pump is dying, at least I think its dying. When it gets hot it doesn't seem to put out any pressure, so now I may have discovered what was causing it to be so lean. Hopefully I'll get it sorted out soon. Thanks for the input.
