Where do you guys get your map readings? Do you run a vacuum hose from your fpr line, or tap into a Map sensor wiring?

MS is extremely flexable with where you hook up the map hose. As long as it gets an unrestricted reading from after the throttlebody it is good. I have heard of the test being done with up to 100ft of hose with no lose in function.
really any source of vaccum after the TB will work fine..
but when I had my MS hooked up to the 2200 i used the FPR
I have hard lines run from the computer to the other side of the firewall near the intake manifold with rubber hoses connecting the components.

One of the easiest ways is to tee into your brake booster line. It is right by the firewall and as I said distance doesn't effect the signal.
T it into the brake booster line? It's huge...
Are you kidding me? Perfect headline...Retard decides to T into brake booster line, connection breaks, and flys through a stoplight killing a family of 5.....no reason not to right?
Please think before you act....its real simple to t into the fpr vaccum line or even this great idea!!!! Right off the t/b where the stock map sensor gets its reading from!
You don't worry about the stock connection coming off. If you can't make another connection that holds as good as stock then you shouldn't be installing a MS.
I am not worried about my abilities to make a connection as good as the stock connection is....but...it still is a RETARDED idea to be cutting into a brake booster vaccum sorce. If you cant figure out why this is a dumb a$$ idea on yourself, you need far more help then this site will ever give you. If I opened up an engine bay and saw somebody using the brake booster vaccum sorce as a vaccum reference for a MAP sensor, I would laugh in your face, along with everybody else taht opened up your engine bay. I am not affraid of my abilities to keep my finger off the trigger of any of my many guns, but I still wouldnt be willing to put a loaded gun up to my forehead while keeping all fingers off the trigger....
Why is it retarded??? any person that works on a car knows that even if the brake booster line isn't hooked up to vaccuum you will STILL HAVE BRAKES..you just have to push harder to stop, all a brake booster does is allow for easier braking..
and i don't know about you, but i have never had a vacuum source come of when i did my megasquirt..
the brake vacuum will work, is it the best idea, no because there is easier sources...but the brake booster will work
Yeah. Just wanted to say it was a viable option. For my application (not a cavalier) it was what was easiest and neatest. Just trying to help out since I'm only getting info for friend. Not trying to start an arguement.
I have it..... had it.......will have it running on my car, and I used the small nipple on the manifold. I know you dont have one becuase of your manifold. and that "thing attached to it" but any vac signal will pretty much work.
