Top speed/rev limiter remover for 2005 Cavalier

I have a 2005 Cavalier and it maxed out at 115 MPH due to a rev limiter or top speed limiter. What is needed to remove this? It doesn't do me any good to turbo the car if you wont get ay additional speed out of it

The only way to safely do that is to buy HPTuners.com tuning soft ware. It is pricey but if you are going to turbo it you will need this software to tune it any way. Do yourself a favor and buy the $650 one so you can data log. But the cheaper one will do the trick but that is still $450.

By the way you are going to get hella flamed for even asking that question.

Speed limiter on a cavalier or any J is not 115mph from the factory. It is lower. Try 108mph, maybe 107mph.

^^his is special..lol..get your suit on buddy..if you needed to go that fast or had the mods to go that fast safely..youd either know how to do it, or have already done it. You shouldnt take your j that high on public roads on a un modded j...its not safe..phil

I think your car is likely just naturally limited to that speed.

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

This was done on my friends private property in az and we were being safe including a bolted in roll cage and 5-point harnesses with helmets on. And this car was modded. It has a ported head, bored tb, cold air intake, header, cams, exhaust, cam gears and a hard wired unichip and was running 100 octane fuel. We are trying to figure out what the car can do before it needed a complete stand alone ems. And i know nothing about j's thats why im here. you wont see me driving a honda but after these replies i wouldn't mind so you guys that made fun of my question will get walked all over!

There's your answer. And these topics are not allowed here so this is locked.

I will tell you though, without the speed limiter, and I know this from experience, you can get about 138 indicated before it tops out.
