New guy here...need help with paint
Thursday, February 17, 2005 11:10 AM
Hey all, new to the site here. Anyways I need some advice for my paint. I have a '96 Z24 that i got from one of my mom's friends. Anyways, when she had it, she had a God forsaken bra on it for the whole time she had it and never took it off. Well now there's a sort of "stain" on the paint as if there's crap stuck in it. I want to take the bra off but i don't want to expose the "stain". BTW, my car is white and the stain has a yellow color to it. How can I get rid of uit. Thanks!

try clay bar or a good wax

the "stain" you are talking about is more than likely moisture trapped in the clear coat. Take a heat gun and try to evaporate the moisture out stay a good distance from the car and dont get it too hot, it may not all come out, then give it a good polishing, not a waxing, you can wax after the polish if you like.

what your talkin about is the clear is stained and no real cure for that unless you repaint the affected area
but there is a small soulution to your problem
take 2,000 or 1,500 paper and wet sand an buff the stained part of the hood it won`t solve the problem but it will look a tad bit better

can i haz bondo

If you don't know what you're doing... don't wet sand and buff... although that is the best option. Take it to a detailer and ask them if they could fix it. Some detail shops do stuff like that.

a friend of mine had a detail shop compound her truck bed because the sprinklers had yellowed the paint. truck looks like it never happened.
