I have searched about the process it takes to mold body kits(mostly the skirts), and putting on body kits, and i have come up with nothing about what it takes.....I want to put a drift kit on, i posted a topic along this line about a month ago maybe, got a few things, but im scared of what it is going to take, im fine with the painting, but I have absolutly no clue on what it involves with attaching the sideskirts or any part of it for that matter, im sure the bumpers just reuse clips....my guess....but...pllease some1 give me a run down on what it takes and what is involved, also, any pics on the difference of looks on a molded kit and a non-molded kit, thank you very much, and bye

well to put on front and rear bumpers they should just reuse the hardware that is used on the factory bumpers.

the side skirts usually use screws or some clips
really quite simple if you get a good fitting kit

the diffrence between molded and non is alot of work

if you plan to drive your car alot please do yourself a favor and don't molded otherwise you will spend more money and time in the shop then you ever would like too

I did what he just said and reused the factory hardware for mine. (a 2004 cavy urethane drift kit)

i had some issues with the sideskirts though. I had to do some cutting with a dremel in the rear wheel well to make it fit. Speaking of, a dremel is your best buddy if your putting on urethane because I dont think the holes will come predrilled. Marking the holes for drilling sothey line up as kind of a pain. But back to the skirts, I just drilled and bolted the skirt on to the front and rear wheel wells and used some tough doublesided mounting tape for the rest. Its been a couple months and no problems yet...

waht kind of doublesidded tape do ya use?...and where ya get it?

i just got a body kit too. it doesnt sound to tuff to do. i had fiberglass hoods and inner fender skirts on my camaro. hope this all works out good

It's really simple I've installed like 6 body kits now... mostly on my car... but a few friends also... I've also installed lambo doors, spoilers, seats, ect....

It's really just a bunch of common sense.... just take a day or two where you can take it apart and think about how it should be... once you take all the old stuff off you'll know what it needs to put the new stuff on! Just jump right in there and don't be scared just do it... and worse come worse just put the stock stuff back on! It's really simple... you'll see... In my experience a few tools that you'll need when installing a body kit... a drill/screwgun, assorted wrenches/sockets, hammer, some extensions, some (3m) double sided tape... you can get it at any hardware store or walmart, some self tapping screws (1" is fine), and you should have no problem figuring everything else out... if you really are stumped gimme a call (859) 230-9365. a little common sense, lots of beer, and a couple of tools is all you really need. getting started is the hardest thing to do when its your first time. just as rusty said, you need to just jump right in. it looks like a big job, but when your done you think to yourself, "that wasnt that bad". its just like lambo doors. looks like a big deal...but turns out to be a fun and easy project. good luck, and have fun.
