well ive had lambo doors on my car since january, buy the only thing i hate about them is that the struts are way to srong for my doos n my struts are always pulling up. i have shaved doos and it hard to open the door cus its necer realaxed. are all the sruts like this? arnt they supposed to open like a normal door and swing normal then u have to help them up? cuz more are opening and starting to chip my paint. ahh!..... does anyone know were i can get any normal struts?
I think it is something that is going to happen no matter what. My kit is the same way and it is kinda difficult to shut the door, when the strut is pushing the door up and I am trying to close it, the latch doesn't line up and then the latch gets tripped and has to be reset and I have to attempt to shut the door again. But be glad that the strut is doing it's job, a weaker strut and your door may come crashing down all of a sudden and that is more than just an inconvenience

Why complain about the struts being strong? Jeez again i WISH mine were like that on my old Decah kit instead door came crashing down...
I had my VDI kit for over a year and my air strut was at first little stiff, but works great for me. Yes it was hard pulling the door down but will stay in any position where I left the door at.
Who ever your manufacturer of that kit is, call them and ask if that is a known prob else you just got lucky have good struts hahaha.
"All my life I have been trying to figure out who is behind this face of mine"
wow...i wish i was that lucky...i would rather have a stronger shock than what i have now...i wish it was harder for me to close the door.
i think stronger shocks would be better.
if you got the Chin-Wah kits, you might have gotten the wrong struts with your kit. they've been known to send the 850 lb struts instead of the regular struts before. sounds like what happened. you're gonna have to get ahold of whoever you bought your kit from and get the struts for your car. the 850 lb struts are for trucks/SUV's that have heavier doors.
I've got the chin wah kit as well and my driver side strut I'm able to open the door as normal with no issues but my passenger door shoots up and I have to catch it before it goes up way to quick. both of my struts say 750lbs so I dunno.
^^ same here one side is stronger than the other i wonder why that is
i need some struts for my car do any one know where i can order some from
I have 700 lb. struts... but of course I have a 4 door....
Mine have guides that keep them from jumping up too quickly... But people complain about cost
Said it before, say it again... You get what you pay for... You save money on the kit, but will pay more in the long run on paint...
wait...now how many people have had a problem w/ chipping paint? i was thinkin about getting the kit from modified motorsports but if alot of people hare having their paint chip, then that will help me decide if i should get them or not...so please be honest and if its chipped paint of ur car, let me know. thanks
^^I got mine from MMS. It hasn't chipped my paint at all. Me trying to put everything on chipped the corners of my door a bit but since the kits been on I haven't chipped anything.

^^ I got a VDI kit and I have the same issues.. drivers side works real good.. passenger wants to go up all to soon and is harder to close.. my solution is the drivers side gets used 10 times more than the passenger.
ditto I have the VDI kit and guess what because I did not line it up right ...............I chipped my paint ..........I do have issues with the struts as well my driver side never wants to stay all the way up and the pass side well it goes by its self........if I had the chance to rebuy my kit I would not pay as much money for the VDI kit seeing and hearing how nice the Modified Motorsports kits are!

hey does anyone else have trouble closing their doors? I mean like you having to close it with alot of strength, because if you don't it kind of stays a little open? this is the only thing I am not happy with, in fact, I think my passenger door latch messed up, I have to reset it all the time because if not it stays in the "closed" position with the door open. other than this, I'm very happy with it, but it does suck having to struggle everytime you wana close the door.
since i have your attention and you all have lambo doors... would u get them again? i am tryin to decide if i should get lambo doors or not? my car is a daily driver, but i still think it would be cool to pull into the car wash and have the door go up and everyone looking or have the doors up at a cruise in....but i could spend the money on other stuff like a hood or lowering it.
you all have problems with yours. Before i go and spend $500, would u recommend it, or should i spend the money on something else?
thanks
My kit? Yes. But mine is different (Speedway Performance) than the one you plan to get...

Your kit is not EVEN the same STYLE, your doors are STRAIGHT UP almost, I hope you have guides, if not that would SUCK.
there fun i would buy them
I love mine, only had one issue, but it wasnt a common one and is being resolved. they work fine. install easily, and if u install them right your paint wont chip... i got the winks kit, and theres a little piece on the hinge that pushes the door out as it goes up so it nevet touches anything... i immagine the rest of the kits have this,... how is your paint getting chipped? you must have not allighned the fenders or doors right.
