I am doing the whole underbody LED thing very soon, including the new ones that go in the wheel wells. Cav is blue - all lights will be blue.
I saw a car the other night with a blue neon license plate frame. I am skeptical, but something about it strangely appealed to me...
I try to walk on the good side of "that line" - once crossed, it is a dangerous path.
Please either guide me back to the side of reason or give this idea your approval. I am walking right on the line and am afraid of falling to the "dark side" of mods.

By the way, I am obviously a major Star Wars geek.

I personally dislike the neon myself. Some cars look pretty cool when they pull up with a underbody and thats aight. But the license plate frame is definately not my style...way 2 ricey. Don't overdo it. But the way I see it is it's your car, your style, your decision.
lol - that bowl of rice says it all.
I'm gonna spend that money on something else, looks like!

personally i think all exterior neon lighting is rice.
do it... but do it this way.... buy a generic black plastic license plate frame, just plain black no designs or anything, and put that over top of the neon frame. you will get the matching glow on your plate just like the glow on the ground from your underbody kit, but wont have the obnoxious neon look from your rear.
Damn, Adam - that ain't a bad idea. It may require a little fabrication to create the required space but nothing I can't handle. We'll file this one under "future maybe".
C'mon, Kase - nothin wrong with a little underbody glow! I don't plan to drive around like I'm Fast & Furious - just gets a little extra attention at the weekend car meets. And attention is what makes our blood flow, right?

ok, if it's for mainly car shows, thats another story. and if your car is clean enough to pull underglow. i just see alot of old beat up toyota corollas and the like with these glow kits and it makes me laugh
Yeah the car's gotta be new and clean. If the car was made before the neon was invented, it probably will not look good!
Yeah - only a show trick for me. Or maybe for grins in a parking lot from time to time...

Why would you do something and ask for other people's "approval". Your car, do what you want.
Personally, I think underbody kits can either be really cool, or really tacky. If you spend some bucks on a good kit, and hide all the bulbs really well, it will look really nice. Even though I think neons are a bit played out, but if you like them, DO IT!
its rice..but you might as well go ahead since you got the body kit and tails
and body kits and tail lights are rice? haha

I thought neon around the plate was illegal...?
I wonder how it would look if you put it behind the plate?

i drive a red 05 and i got a red neon light frame for my b-day. i wanted to put it one but did not fit right, a little to big. sooooooooo i put it on underneath. myself i just used to zipties and cilicone and placed it underneath and i now have a slight underglow. looks good and i did not have to take it back.
i was never a fan of any neon lights,
RICE!!!!!!!!!
Thats so 80's..................
if you're gonna do it go with what adam said. i'm not a huge fan of the idea, then again i've never seen it pulled off like that. if you wanna do it, don't let anyone on here tell you different. take a chance, see if you like it.
I'm making the back of my car look good first.
After all, Civics need something nice to look at...

I agree

Every neon frame I've seen has a plain black backing so it can be mounted to give a double halo effect (if the plaate is behind the frame) or a single halo effect if the plate is in front of the frame.
I've got one in white, neon facing out and personally, I like it, but to each his own. I've been thinking about flipping it over to get that double glow effect, just haven't had the time.
The only time I feel neon is "rice" is when it's done badly (ie: the tubes are visible) or over done (ie: it's a wonder they haven't gone blind from all the interior and exterior neons).. but again.. to each his own.

I have one currently and I think it looks cute.
