I have a 2001 Sunfire. I have installed the street fire body kit myself except for the side skirts. So most of the body work is done. How much would it cost to repaint the car black. Note the car is already black so I would not need the inside of the doors painted or anything.
So question is to paint it black how much?????
Oh and not some hole in the wall painter either a good paint job Im not talking Maco.
Second question how much would it be if I got it painted black with silver flake???

Your best bet is to call a body shop around you, they know what they charge better than we do...
you could find a decent back yard painter. They charge 150-250 for labor plus supplies... where I have only painted a couple cars I asked for money only for materials as of right now. everyone I deal with I tell them my experience first. black is kida cheap and harder to spray in my opinion. but I think if you go with HOK your looking at 1000 for everything BECAUSE they make their products designed to be used with only their products. but lets say you go to NAPA and buy CROSSFIRE your looking at spending 190-250 in primer base and clear along with additives. this type of paint job will last you for a year to three years you go HOK your looking at a nice paint job unitl your sell or wreck the car. NAPA sells a brand of paint call MARTIN SENIOR that is as good as PPG and the price is around 250-350 a gallon for black then you have to buy their additives and so on so on and its expensive. but if you want a low budget paint job for a nice sleek look just ask your local paint dealer/sprayer... all prices vary., I live in the sticks so you have to learn your own. There is one back yard painter that is out rageously good. I've seen him produce show winning paint jobs time after time with free hand air brush and crazy affects. but he charges 150 a stripe.... so EVERYTHING varies
You can use HOK products with other products. I've seen it done and the results be the same, you just come out cheaper. No matter what,don't go cheap on the paint you use. I understand if its for interiors but not the outside of your car. Take a car that has been sprayed and cleared in Crossfire brand and then say DuPont Chroma Premier, and I promise you will see a difference. Even more so as time goes by. I know PPG is a good brand of paint as well but have never had experience with them. Minus the pearls I will say that DuPont Chroma Premier can honestly rival HOK.
Best bet is to see if you can find anyone that can get you paint at a discount. Most paint is marked up 100% from cost.
Make sure whoever you inquire about possibly painting your car that you ask to see previous work so you know the price you pay is worth it. Too many people pay for these pricey paint jobs to have horrible jobs done on them.
Also like it has mentioned prices will vary. I had my entire car including door jambs and everything painted whenever I had my kit painted. I also had all the dents and everything taken out as well. Don't cut corners on that area too. A fresh and shiny paint job will show those dents you decided not to take out. But with paint which if anyone who has dealt with DuPont knows the price of Chroma Premier, bodywork, and all other materials, I spent $1100 total. Yes it helped I was friends with the guys who did it but still every place charges different. One more word of advise, when looking at a shop be weary of one who takes months to do a car. I know that I didn't have anything shaved or molded but it still only took a week. Good shops will get it done and out to you in a timely matter no matter what.

Best bet is to go around and get quotes/estimates. Different shops in different areas charge differently. A small place in the boonies would most likely charge a lot less than some big shop in New York City or LA... for example. Go around and get prices... ask questions... and go from there.
Black being one of the cheaper colors I'd say starting somewhere around $1500 at a good bodyshop with no bodywork. I think black is one of the easiest colors to spray, its white and light colors that is difficult to spray sometimes because its harder to see it laying out. Make sure any bodywork is very straight with a dark color like black, it shows every little ripple and wave.

I was quoted 1500-2K to have mine totally repainted.. 400 to have a kit painted.
at the shop i work at it would probably be aroung 3000 because we gurentee all of our work
Well, I just got back from two different shops. First one said over $5,000 the other said $3,800. Im gonna do some more shoping around. I was hoping I could find some where for about 1,500.

yeah but we might not even touch it if it is bad and chances of it needing more body work is pretty good
