I got a SS body kit a couple months ago for my 2000 cavalier. The fitment seems to suck, its made from fiberglass. The rear bumper sags like no other. it is uneven at the bottom, one side near the wheel well is really close to the tire. I didnt even try the front because it need converted for the 2000 headlights. I am thinking about taking it to a shop so its perfect. I usually do the work my self but this would be way over my head.lol. Any comments on average price for a shop to do the work would be great
I would take it to a shop if its that bad, i put my fiberglass blitz front on myself in a few hours, it wasn't a perfect fit, but it wasnt horrible so i was able to do it. I have seen people pay anywhere from 500 to 2200. It all depends on if the shop has done them before that way they have an experienced person put it on and it goes quicker or if this is there first kit that theyve installed and they are just winging it, i would try and find somewhere that has installed fiberglass kits before and if possible, try and see some of there work. Whether or not you want it painted is also a factor. This is one of those things where you just have to call around, every town and bodyshop is different so noone can really tell you. You might be able to find out a good shop to have it installed at if you ask in your regional forum.
I got my urethane kit and hood intstalled, as well as painted w/ handles and mirrors painted for just under 2200. Like Rider said, it really just depends on the shop and where you are. But def find someone who has experience w/ fiberglass kits. If they dont, then you might as well do it yourself, cause all they have over you is possibly better tools.

if it fits bad then just mold the hole kit
I really don't recommend molding a kit in... maybe sides... but front and rear is a bad idea.
If someone were to hit you in the rear... it's going to be a lot of work to fix... or if you need to take off your front it's going to be nearly impossible.
I am having the same problem with my new SS rear bumper (BC) on my 97. It doesn't line up at all, it sits too low under the taillights and trunk lid. Not too mention really weird around the wheels. He said he can make it fit guaranteed but I am not sure how they would do that cause it just won't work! I am not professional but this is the 3rd back bumper I have installed and never had these types of problems.
