In April of 2003 I installed Street Glow Xenons (9007 | 100/80w | 12v) in both my mom's '98 Sunfire Sedan and my '02 Sunfire GT.
I have had no problems with the ones in my car. I have yet to have to replace them and they work as well today as the day I installed them.
They were fine in my mom's car too up until a couple of months ago. The driver's side bulb went out. I went and bought a brand new pair and replaced it. Less than a week later it went out again so I replaced it with the second bulb out of the new pair I had just bought.
When I removed the bulb from the harness it was all cloudy and a lighter color blue than it should have been. It also had a small crack in it. When I installed it I made sure to clean it with the alcohol pad that was in the package, handle it very carefully and make sure it was in the headlight housing securely.
That bulb was fine up until yesterday. My mom and I were an hour from home when I realized that the driver's side bulb was out again. I just pulled the bulb out and it was the same as the previous one; all cloudy and very light blue. I checked the wiring harness and I see no damage to it.
The passenger side bulb has been fine for two years now so I am wondering if I just picked up a pair of bad bulbs or if there could be something else wrong with the car? Unfortunately I no longer have the receipt for the bulbs otherwise I would take them back to the store where I bought them and get a new pair or something. I am thinking I just got a bad pair of bulbs, but I am still kind of worried that it could be something more serious. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
