I love my RK Sport rear CF bezel but hated the fact that they left the keyhole in it. After an unsuccessful attempt to get them to make a new mold, I was inspired to create my latest masterpiece:
Made of the exact same CF, it looks solid from far away...
But is actually an exact replica of the silver piece on the rear of the 03 and some 04s!
Made from the same procedure as my CF bumper emblems - genuine carbon fiber cut to shape and atatched to an 1/8 piece of black PVC cut from the same template. The whole thing is backed with 3M tape to keep it on. By the way, I am getting rid of these fake CF crap altezzas - I hate them now.
I'm thinking of adding the little bowtie outline that's on the original, but I kinda like the way it blends into its background from far away.
What do you guys think? These are available now if you want to email me.
Thanks!
Steve

Oh yeah - I forgot to mention that I'm doing a CF filler piece that goes behind the license plate and fills those areas on either side of it. The template has been a pain, but it's getting there.

That looks tight. Can't wait to see the smaller ones.
Steve, I just sent you an email about the interior decals. Let me know.
looks good. i'll take your outter tails when you get rid of them
Very nice.....What about the 3rd brake light cover...think you could make one in CF? Lemme know.
to be honest, i don't like it, it blends in
too much. maybe if it had a border of something. in general cool idea though
"Official Jewish J-Body"
wow that looks really good man
keep it up

I agree in part. I do like it but, yeah, it does blend way to much. When I first glanced at the first pick I thought it was an imperfection in the c/f to be honest. Maybe if you used the same color blue as your and went around the outer edge of the piece it would give it more contrast.
Even pure genius is born out of insanity.
you should make 1 with the key hole for those with the red light still
that would look cool
YOu see, I LIKE the fact that it blends in (I even purposely lined it up with the bezel CF. Once you are up on it, you can see the black around the edges and it has kind of a "chameleon" effect like the Predator guy. It's kind of a different ball game in person.
BUT, I will try a few modifications soon and submit them for your pleasure.
I appreciate the feedback.
They can be used for the guys who leave the stock red bezel, I'm pretty sure, but I refuse to ever design anything that has a keyhole.
What do you guys think I should charge for these? I have been accused of charging too much for my stuff, so I'm gonna accept feedback from now on and adjust as needed.

i guess it depends on what the materials cost, and time involved.
oh ya, did you send out the front cf emblems yet?

Oh Yeah - all orders are shipped.

charge whatever it costs for you to make it with some interest for yourself.
Last time someone around here asked "how much should I charge?"
they got some insane lowballer quotes to the point that other guys who
run businesses here had to step in and set people straight.
Now, as for the piece you just made, fantastic.. BUT
Consider making it a smaller Chevy symbol. I don't like how the arms
extent all the way out on this one.
You got that inner tail light curve there and right next to it is a sharp square
cut off from the arm of the emblem. I know I know, I'm picky
They stuff your doing is great, can't wait for the Chevy emblems!
Ohh and can anything be done about the 3rd brake light?
I know it's a very small piece, and is most likely to tricky to cut.
heck you should just sell whatever you got there.
Wow that looks really good...I'd almost def. buy one if you did like you said and kept the lil outline of the bowtie in the middle, cuz I have the stock red bezel.
And I'm still waiting anxiously for the front emblem, although my camera just screwed up a few minutes ago, so who knows if when it gets here I'll be able to take pics like I said.
Great work again, as always Steve!

Just don't go too cheap to where you aren't making anything... It has to be worth your time, effort, and pay for all your other costs.

Thanks Mishkafan,
Jason, yeah I have a figure in mind, but there is someone telling all my potential customers that my prices are "ridiculous" and I need to really think about it before I release it. It really sucks that I have to explain the amount of work that goes into my products and justify why I need to make a living for my design time and labor...
I'm in a really bad position between giving my stuff away because others will, or getting far fewer sales because I have charged too much. I guess I'll just set my prices and hope for the best!

Well...if your prices are anywhere close to those you listed in the email you sent to us first batch buyers...I think they'll sell without a problem. The quality is awesome from what I can tell so far.
