What they meant to say is "You dont need to hook up the sidemarker bulbs on the new tails."

And you dont. I was confused my this too. Just leave them hanging or tape them to the light. They arent needed.
Thanks for the reply guys I dont know why this is giving me such a hard time but
I did that and the brakes were not coming on,not even the third brake light.Do all the lights need to be hooked up for it to work cause I havent hooked up reverse lights yet. What does the side marker light do?The Larger bulb is the lights and turn signal but no brake light came on when I hit the brakes.
Dont know why but cavaliers are touchy about the bulbs. Did you remove the bulb from the socket and reinsert it? Does it work only on the parking light function? Did you touch the bulb? If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, you gotta buy a new bulb. Sidemarkers arent that touchy, so you shouldnt have to replace those.

i would try that^^^^^^^^^^^^^ cause i didnt have that problem. i dont know whats going on.
Ok guys,do you still have all your functions working through the large light bulb?
1-Reverse lights (trunk lense)stays the same
2-Large bulb is lights,turn signal(corner lense)stays the same
3-Small bulb is brake(corner lense)tape off or disregard
How can you still have you brake light working if you disregard it?
Are you just using you 3rd brake light?
I dont understand how you can the large bulb act as a brake light when it was never a brake light?
I appreciate you guys replying this is becoming an aggravating process.
Thanks again
