I am currently tearing apart my 1996 Cavalier 2-door, eventually down to the bare shell, to build up.

The rear panel, behind the bumper support (man, those supports are heavy) has considerable rust and some holes. I'd like to replace the whole panel (remove and weld in a new one), or at least buy a panel (if available) and replace the nasty bits on the current panel.

The rest of the car seems to be in fine shape, so I guess the back faces more challenges due to the salt and crud on the roads here in the winter.

Can I buy a replacement panel for the back of the car as such (perhaps even from GM)? Is there a particular non GM supplier that I could check out if necessary (if GM does not generally have a good selection of body panels)?
