remove a piece of the bumber?

i've got an 04 cavalier. just wondering if that piece on the front holding the bowtie can be removed, and if so, if that'll give open access to opening the hood. also would it be re-attachable? if anyone's got experience with this, comments, or pics of cavaliers with said piece removied (with stock bumber), please post. thanx.

Yes it can be removed, the only thing holding it there is 3m tape or glue. What your gonna have to do is wait for a warm day out then get fishing line and saw it out with the fishing line fromt he back of emblem - if you know what i mean by that. And that's it. You can also put it back on if you want and theirs no opening.

Example pic :

Hope that helps.

Oh im sorry, i totally read your post wrong lol. Sorry about that But it does leave an opening. Heres some other pics and also my buddy had to shave all the lil ripples in the front off to have it smooth.

Hope this is better lol

I don't believe those pics till i see it in person.... with my front end I decieded to leave the center bar off.... it looked liek @!#$, you could see the black plastic radiator cover, and the latch and alot of the crush gaurd, not to mention if anyone wanted to get under your hood it 3 bolts for latch right there with nothign covering them.... those pics are photoshoped because they show it as solid black, it looks nothign liek that when you do it for real, not t mention I've seen that car on cardomain before but it used to be molded on the sides where you see the lines and circles now.... it looked so bad I but the bar back on

Darkstar, If u look closly at the front pic, you can still see the hood latch, Its faint but its there, It would look real smooth if you could find some time of "Honey Comb Mesh" like on the mustangs to fit in there, I think it would hide it real good.

i'm gonna have to agree with Darkstars on the photoshopping. It doesn't look like it's just completely blacked out but it does look like they put a black layer or it and just lowered the opacity on it some. i mean come on just take a good look at the edges all the way around the opening. the pic has clearly been touched up.
