New trunk?
Sunday, May 01, 2005 4:18 PM
Pretty soon I will be changing the rear of my car (tail lights). I was wandering though.. I do not want to have a bezzel thing there (however you spell it ). I want it to look like the older model cav's in the back.. so my question is. Would it be better to just get a new trunk lid (what year? is it 200-2002?) or just get some body filler or w/e and fill in that part where the bezzel would go? Thanks.

I would just fill it in, sand it, and prime..then paint

trunk lids from 95-02 are all the same....... cavalier anyways..... 2 and 4 door. You'd spend less on picking up one the same color as your car, then filling and painting your stock one.

man i see so many ppl on this site take what they think is the cheap and easy way around stuff. First off if you fill that with any... any body filler, it will more that likely crack out. Big spots of body filler will crack i promise. Body filler is meant for minor dings, scrapes etc...
Also the just go to a junk yard and pick up the older style deck lid.... sand it then primer and paint. In the long run its safer and more cost effecient. If the putty cracks you would have painted that lid and then you would prolly go buy an older style and then have to paint it.... screw the body filler. Im done with my long post .............
