i shaved my doors today and the driver said went easily but when i removed the molding on my passenger side i found that it was not painted underneath the molding. i was royally pissed im guessing that door was wrecked without my knowledge prior to buying a year ago. o well. also im posting pics showing my drivers side and have a question about the door. some stooge that had my car before me out a black strip on the side of my driver side door and now i have all this black gunk on there. will goo bgone get rid of this.

well looks like im goin to have to retake them tomorrow they didnt quit turn out... ill post em though i swear.
clean the tape off so we can see it better. get some goo gone and get that crap off of there.
btw this is the driver side the paint is gone from the passenger and i couldnt get the pix in time cause it was dark. ill post them tomorrow but see that black tar lookin stuff goin up the side of my door. will goo b gone get rid of that ??? im thinking yes but not sure.
i will im planning on doin that tomorrow its a little late right now. 12:37 am and i got work tomorrow at 8 . so ill post my updated pic tomorrow evening. also where can i buy goo gone or whatever.

get like bug and tar removed to get rid of that black line. someone vandalized my car and spray painted on it. ( dumb if you ask me, black spray paint on a black car) anyway they realized that so they did my windows instead. well took about 5 mins to get off w/ the bug and tar remover.
I am thinking of removing the molding on my black 99 cavalier RS. Is there a big difference in paint from where the molding was and where is was not. I am thinking that the paint under the molding will not be faded and might look bad.
mine is a 98 and i took my moldings off about 2 years ago and there was no color fade at all
the only thing i could say about the end of the door, is if it doesnt look good when it gets cleaned up, throw another door edge moulding on er....its a quick fix if need be
You removed the moldings, you didnt "shave" them. I dont know why people say that lol.
But like said above, it looks like its the tape you need to take off.

goo gone wont take off the pinstripe but it will take off the black stuff
you should really clean your car first before you do this
thats why i havent taken the goo off yet cause im planning on removing it after i wash it tonight... hopefully anyway but i cant stand it being on there any longer... so hopefully ill update tonight... if not tomorrow. also is there a way to remove the goo without tearing up my thumbs and fingers or is that what im goin to have to do?
