Traveling with body kit question
Wednesday, May 04, 2005 1:25 PM
I'll be hitting the highway for a 6 hour trip and was wondering what people do to protect the front of there cars from rock chips, bugs etc etc. I have quite a few already but dont want it to get worse.

Plus bug season is starting so that will be like a million of those on the front. What do you guys use? Saran wrap the front bumper? what will stick to it at 120KM/hr?

Regards,

you can get the painters tape at a lot of auto parts stores also. Just look in the paint aisle.

Hmmm I'll have to check the art supply and hobbie shops before I leave town tomorrow. Looks like I'll have to make some calls in the A.M before leaving. So what is it called exactly so I dont sound like a idiot.

Dude that would take for every to cover the whole front bumper/valance with that tiny stuff and probably cost a arm and a leg.

I looked through the gallery but couldnt find any images. Can someone help me out here with this covering stuff?

yea it takes a while but it works and is the best that we found so far. other stuff works but leaves goo on the paint from being in the sun

What about the stuff they have on the fronts of new cars (the white protective stuff)? Or the stuff that they have on plexi glass to protect it in transit? I just don't know where to get it.

just slap some vinyl on there, you know that they use for decals and such. you can buy a roll off ebay or a local shop. it just stickes on but it's nice and wide (12-24 inches depending). it doen't leave that much of a res but if it does just hit it with meguires cleaner wax and the ish coves right off.

i think thats your best bet, and it will stay until you pull it off. no matter what speeds yours traveling.
