FogLights on 05 Cavalier?
Thursday, May 05, 2005 9:33 PM
Got a quicky of a question. I have an 05 Cavalier, and I know on the 03+ Cavalier, the front bumper generally has areas where fogtlights can be installed. They are small circle areas where there are small pieces of mold in them, but if those get removed you could easily get a fogtlight in there.

Anyways, my question, does anyone know if you have to buy a specific foglight for it? Brand, size, etc? I've never bought foglights before so I don't exactly know how that works.

hey exodus, i bought some PIAA P-1000's to fill up the foglight holes on my 03 coupe (base) cavy. i mounted them to the actual steel bumper underbody (i didn't want a wobbly attachment on the plastic bumper) and it looks like a snug fit in there.

two concerns about this though:
1) although the PIAA p-1000's fit perfectly in the holes and do a great job of lighting up the road, it is a "Driving Lamp" the light beam pattern might not be the one you want, all up to you.
2) taking off the bumper for the first time is not fun, mounting it to the steel bumper frame requires some custom brackets (some scrap metal will do) basically its a little time consuming if you've never taken off the bumper, but not too bad. (you can always mount it to the plastic bumper)

I'll post some pictures later and if you want me to i can post some directions. it took me a portion of the day to figure everything out and install it.

Well, if anything, I'd just buy thr fogtlights and have them professionally installed. I don't know jack about removing body pieces and having stuff molded directly.

The PIAA's, how much did they cost you? Are they bluish lights? The color scheme I'm going for my car is black/blue, and I've got some nice Xenon's in already. So foglight wise, I'm looking for something similar.
