alright i need a close close up picture pointing exactly to which wire i need to cut on the steering column of a 95-99 Z24 because im not seeing a white wire anywhere on the turn signal harness
thanks ahead of time
i guess untill i find it ill have to suffer through having both yellow brake lights and red brake lights rofl
where might one find this FAQ. i have searched but to no avail
Typed in "Toyota Tails" and found
this
If you can't find the white wire, pull back the sticky black tape around the turn signal harness. It's there somewhere. Good luck.
its the only white wire coming out of the turn signal switch. hope that helps

i may just have u do it for me mikey!!!!
ive looked at that how to - its what i used for the rest of the wiring..... but all i can find are grey and tan wires
could it be a different color other than white?
There's two or three plugs off the headlight switch. You want the top one (gray one) not the side one (blue) or the small one (black) which is the cruise (if you have it).
White wire.. it's either the first or second one on the left side of the connector. Been a while since I did it.

On John Lenko's website (
http://members.shaw.ca/toyota_cavalier/tailshowto.html), it says at the bottom that on 2002 and some 2003 models, you should use the yellow wire and not the white for the 3rd brake light
Does anyone know why?
Is he saying that the white might actually be yellow on some models?
I used the white wire, but I can't remember if the other one was yellow or not. If there is a white, and a yellow does using the white hurt?

i did the install on an 03 and an 05 and they were the same white wire as the the rest of the years(95-02) and the worked perfectly fine.

I put that there because someone said that it was a yellow wire. I thought they were wrong then too..
Thanks guys.
I'll leave it on the white then.
Much appreciated. I love the new lights as much as I pictured them in my head for the past 4 years.
