Need Suggestions on possible shaving(s)
Thursday, May 12, 2005 9:47 PM
I wanted to shave something on my car. I don't think I want to do the door handles and locks cause in the future I might regret it. I was thinking about shaving the reverse lights and/or the trunk keyhole. What you think?

I shaved my locks, and my antenna. I think it turned out real nice. I used fiberglass, and bondo, and as many people douobted me its held up to the expansion/contraction of two harsh winters. Check it out at www.cardomain.com/id/96cavcustom

That's cool work that you did.

I still need your suggestion...do you think I should shave the reverse lamps and/or trunk key hole?

How hard would it be to do so? Do they usually remove the whole the whole lamp or do something over it?

im an idiot, i was looking for the ones in the bumper, and i was drunk when i wrote that. dont shave them, maybe lightly tint them. i mean reverse lights are sort of important and it begs the question, where would you have reverse lights

Isnt that piece that surounds the key hole and reverse lights a type of plastic? The key hole wouldnt be that hard, but unless you really know what your doing with some fusor products or some duramax, then i dont see shaving the reverse lights being very easy. I would do the locks all the way around, the antenna, and one of the spoilers. Smart move by not shaving your handles, it gets old.

I was going to take it to a professional to do it instead of me messing up my car LOL

By shaving the antenna, would I still be able to get the radio?

I wasn't sure about doing the door key holes either cause I hear that the door poppers are a pain to install. Wouldn't I also need automatic locks to use it?

if you shave the key holes...then you dont need poppers because you still have door handles lol... all you would need is to get automatic locks which isnt that much

Good point. I'll have to think long and hard about the reverse lights but someone photoshopped what my reverse lights and trunk keyhole look like shaved and it looks damn good and clean but not sure if I will get hassled by the cops for it.

i say shave the key hole and antenna. and you can get a hidden antenna kit or a window antenna to compensate for the crappy reception you'd get with just no antenna. i'd be scared to shave my reverse lights though. i kinda use mine a lot. if you shaved them i'd think more about relocating them instead of just removing them.
maybe shave all your keyholes......and definitely the antenna.
