well i dont know where to start with this story , and what to do for help, i was staring at the side of my car all day and it was really warm yesterday so being daring ... i reached my fingers under the little one on the front quarter pannel and pulled it came right off adhesive and all.... i was like F*ING sweet!!! so i did the whole side of the car just like it right off adhesive and all .. well i get to the drivers side and pull the back quarter pannel off no prob same thing .. well i got the big long one went to pull it off and it pulled off but all the adhesive from the top strip stayed ... same with the little front one... now heres the problem the adhesive that stayed is black and the rest of the adhesive is gray .... the stuff that came off with the molding.... the black adhesive is very ... um not gummy its stiff.. will goo goone work on this ... and also the other pieces coming off so easy .. does this mean the car was painted perviously or in an accident?... but the big qustion is ... should i heat it up and goo gone it or what?

goo gone should take car of it. i've heard a lot of suggestions for what to use though, including goo gone and wd-40 even. but yea, goo gone is the most popular from what i've seen. good luck.

I rubbed the worst of it off---gave me blisters on my thumb, but oh well. for the little bit that is left, use WD-40 or Goo Gone
If the adhesive was a different colour (black) it was most likely replaced. This does not mean that the car was in an accident. It only means that the molding was replaced...could have come off due to poor adhession at the factory. Or, yes it could mean that there was some body work done. I'd check the bottom of the door to see if there is any double layers or overspray. Goo Gone will do the trick but like red04cavy said blisters are a good bet once done. Happy peeling.
