Cavalier Body Kit that doesn't scrape?
Wednesday, May 18, 2005 2:08 PM
My wife is looking for a body kit for her 03 Cav, but does not want to deal with the scraping that I get from my RK Sport kit. I figured the stock ground effects package that comes with the LS Sport would be the answer, but the dealer wants 1200 bucks, no paint, no install.

Is there a nice, simple aftermarket kit that I can get her that isn't too low ? I try not to scrape but it happens no matter what. I'm trying to save her some aggravation.

Thanks!

Steve

hmmm...check the classifieds? sometimes people sell thiers, I've got a front and rear I just picked up...still trying to scoop up some sides, I just love the look of the LS sport kit.
how much are you looking to spend? I think RK's lip kit is 5something, maybe closer to 6?

The Razzi kit at stock height probably doesn't scrape that much. It is just an add-on to the factory bumpers. Kinda like a lip kit....but not really. Looks pretty good too.
click me!
You could also ask DoubleZed, as he has a very nice 4-door w/the Razzi kit.

no kit scraps if you drive carefully, lol.

^^^^ Exactly. If you buy a kit and pay attention to how you drive as well as the conditions (potholes, alot of steep driveways, etc.) Then you shouldn't have any problems. People complain of having bad roads or tons of steep areas to go up then go buy the Drift Kit or BC2 and then slam their cars only to complain about dragging and breaking.
I have the IF front and RK rear lip with Wings West Sides and have never scraped anything more than the bottom of my mufflers. With any kit you have to change up your driving to an extent.

try bumpers.com they usually have bumpers at discount prices. you can get the front and rear for about $360 combined...unfortunately the sides will need to be purchased from another location.

besides drift, kits don't drop it THAT much that you have to worry about scraping, its the suspension packages that drop it~

just stay away from a drift kit if she's worryin about scraping

Well if this helps, I have a yellow 03 LS sport, and we just finished putting the whole Bomex kit on recently, and I haven't scraped anything once, it isn't much lower than stock. If you want, i can go measure right now and tell you how much clearance is all around the car... I just got surgery I broke my nose yesterday so I can't go anywhere, so i'll be here all night. hope this helps
