I wouldn't do it. I did it and it didn't seal completely and would pop up in the corners occasionally. Now my trunk doesn't sit right at all.

This is how i learned how to do it. You have to get longer bolts and replace the ones holding the arms to the inside of the trunk, get sone copper pipe and washers a little bigger than the bolt and use them to space the arms about 1.5" depends on what kinda of hinges you have might want to screw the hinges to the end of the arms then to the out side peice of metal where the arms would slide in. If you space the arms down correctly the lid will close right. You could always do some welding on the spacers to strenghten them too. Is that basicly how you guys did yours?

Check this out. I used the same kit off of ebay and just made it work. Everything seals tighter than stock and no leaking.

All the ebay kits are is 2 stanley hinges and 2 slide locks. probably paid 3x's what you could have bought the stuff for at your local hardware store. I'm planning on doing mine. Just have to find the parts I had for it. my friend fell victim to ebay flip flop trunk kit and paid like $30 plus for the thing after shipping...

cavi owners: is your all's throttle bodies oval? I have a sunfire and mine is, i was just wondering. gm does some stupid stuff. I always wondered how people got cold air intakes on there. I mean, so maybe they make the pipe oval, but the filter is still round. I know they don't make a special oval filter for j bodies. It took me 2 hours one time to get a cone filter on my throttle body...........

hence why you buy the intake, and the coupler connects the pipe and throttle body, then another coupler will connect the filter to the pipe, alot less headache
