Ok, here is my problem. I have an 04 sunfire with a streetfire kit. I installed my pass side vert door, and when I put my skirt back on, the door is hitting it. I guess my questions are: 1) Has anyone else run into this? 2) If so, what was your solution? 3) Would I be better off trying to shave a small portion of the skirt for clearance, or should I cut the part of the skirt off that is in front of the door and try to mold a "stick -on" vent into the fender? I dont mean just stick it on, I mean actually cut out part of the fender and mold the vent into it.
I normally hate it when people ask for opinions on things, because when it all boils down, it is their ride, and they are the one who has to live w/ it. This is a different circumstance, however, and am asking not for opinions on looks, but more practicality. Thanks in advance, ~Q~
is it the hinge you are having a problem w/ or the actual door? if its the door, you probably just need to adjust it
No, actually the issue is that the doors are supposed to open inside of the fenders. With the new hinges, they open outside of the door. Because of this, and the design of the skirts on the kit (and factory for that matter), the door is catching on the skirts.
