I have some soft dents from hail damage. I say soft becuase they are not creased, just divited. Is there an easy way to get these out? I have heard stories of just using a suction cup and another about using a hair dryer and an ice cube?
Any ideas?

there are different ways to do it, some people have luck with using a plunger over the area, or the heat/cold to pop it out.
Others will use something like the ding king.
I have heard all these things work for each person, but have not used any myself.
Be careful if you use the heat/cold one because the heat could, if intense enough mess up the paint.

How does one do that? I'm not going to tak it in to a shop to have it done, just because I don't want to pay that much for cosmetic issues right now. I would rather put the $200+ dollars in to a new air intake or exhaust system or something like that.

Paintless Dent Removal is not really a DIY project.
I would check around for prices. The last time I had work done, it was $45 for 13-15 dents.

I have heard mixed feelings on these, some say they work great some say they don't do shyte, if you do use either of these please post your results so other can gain from your experience, TY & GL.
None of that stuff works. There is a 1-800 number for PDR but I forgot it. They come to your house and do the work there. Problem is that in most cases they can't really get all the dents out on a hood roof or trunk since it is most likely double paneld roof or they have a structural piece in the way.
PDR will work for most of it but not all. You can get alot of it with a very strong magnet and a little rubber hammer. Stick the magnet right in the middle and work the hammer really lightly around the edge of the dent. Not to hard and it might just come out. Make sure you apply a bit of pull on that magnet when tapping around the dent. You may even want to use a piece of silk to keep the magnet from scratching your paint.
But look up that 1-800 number. I think it was something like 1-800-dent-wiz. Not really sure about it though.
My last trip to a PDR place, the guy used a technique I have not seen before. He used a special hot glue, assorted suction cups, and a slide hammer. He puts down some hot glue, places the suction cup on that, waits a bit for glue to set, attaches the slide hammer to the suction cup, and then "pulls" out the dent with the slide hammer. He used it on some dents where it was double layered metal, or no access from the back of the dent. Actually worked.
The suction cups were interesting. About the size of quarters or 50 cent pieces. Circles and ovals. Each of them had the knob on the top for the slide hammer to attach, and there were indicators to show you where the force was going to be applied the most.
