so hopefully tommorow i will be going to get my windows tinted, ive got a black 97 cavalier, i was just wondering what percent i should go with?

In Michigan around my area (Flint) the most a place will do is 27% on the front windows, and limo the rest so thats what i got!!

Hey i live in michigan as well and i got my windows tinted 5% all around . even on the front windows.
check out my tinting, being that you have a black car its not as easy for the cops to tell how dark the tint is like if you were to have a white car or something like that. But I got limo tint on all 3 rear and factory on the front two and I've sat right next to cops at intersections and they haven't even glanced at me.

it was really sunny, its a lot darker then it looks.
I live in Monroe, Michigan and know of a few people who got tickets for the front windows being tinted...That's why when I got mine tinted I only had them do the back three.....
Here in Illinois I believe the most you can do is 5%.

That is correct and it is illegal to have the front windows tinted. I have all my back 3 tinted in 5% and had the fronts tinted with static tint. So i got pulled over and just peeled it off and threw it in the back seat and when the officer came up to check my windows, he felt like an idiot. So i just drove off, got home, sprayed the window, got all the bubbles and water out and was on my way again with tinted windows. I took it off now just because backing up is a PITA> so if i were you and you were tinting all of them i would go 5% to %20 for the rears and 35% in teh front if you are doing the front.
Everything is illegal here in Illinois... hell, we can't even have those neon license plate borders, lol
im getting my tinted tomarrow as well, just when you say something like 35%, that means only 35% of the light gets through correct?
