Alright. I have a 03 Black LS Cav coupe, and I have tried just about every products on the shelves for the past 3 years. I finally stumbled upon Mothers products. The Carnauba cleaner wax is awesome, helps removes LIGHT swirls and such from the car, but gives a indeniably smooth, deep, wet finish, but I still felt this wasn't enough. I then tried their Step 3 Carnauba Cleaner Wax, and oh-my-god. The finish simply is the slickest you can get, water just CAN'T simply hold on it, and the shine is as deep as you can get.
It definitely outperforms Zymol, which is GREAT, but attracts dust like nothing else, and other products like nanowax are jokes compared to this.
If you want to get the best shine, without getting into 1000 steps programs and such, here's how:
1) I only use Turtle wax Zipwax soap. Doesn't wax like they say at all, but preserves the existing coats of wax perfectly. However, once a year, use something slightly alkaline like Dawn or other dishwashing soap to remove the existing layers of wax.
2)I use Maguiars Polishing Glaze #9 I think, with a very very soft sponge, to remove scratches and leave the surface squeeky clean, just like new. Be careful, and for god's sake, do it by hand. Leave the buffer in the garage.
3) Carnauba Cleaner Wax, the pink one, from Mothers, to further remove minor swirls or scratches not completely removed by the Meguiars Glaze, and it will give it a really nice, wet looking carnauba shine
4) Final step: Pure Carnauba Wax from mothers. Tip: On the hood, roof and trunk, apply it from fore to aft ( bumper toward seats ), and on the doors, vertically. I will simply leave you amazed. I found that giving 3 coats gives the deepest, most tridimensional looking shine possible. You also won't believe the touch, it's just the smoothest, slickest thing you'll ever touch!
I also found that applying the spray-on Mothers quick detailer after a layer makes the next one more effective and easier to wipe.
I'll try to post picturse, but you all know it, pictures mean nothing to compare wax result.
Cheers,
G

Never use dish soap, to many contaminents. Isopryhol Achohol, [SP?] takes wax off with ease, and is safe on most paints.
