ok i got a few actually.
i got a set of neons today for free, i helped my cousin move into a new apartment and they were sitting in the corner, they only have the light tubes (unsure of color......is there a way to tell) and the wires with fuseable links. so my questioin is what do i need to make them work?? i have no clue on these things and don't even know if they work, but is it even possible or worth the effort to get them working??

Well all you need is a proper voltage transformer, a fuse, a switch, and do a search in the audio section for a way to wire them up, its been discussed alot.

ehh nevermind i found out that they are white, they had a sticker on them. and i think white would look nasty on basically any car, so oh well, at least i got them for free

I disagree i have seen them on blue and red cars and they look actually really nice.....if i had a blue or red car u can bet i would be puttin on white....but its ur car so thats what matters...

well personally i'd like to have blue neons or an LED kit. the colorchanging ones would be great.
is there a way to tell if they work by looking at them........like if they were broken, id assume i'd see broken glass or burn marks right??

if you have a spare battery, then just put the wire ends on that, and if they light up then they work. if they don't, make sure the batter has juice in it. or you could just use the battery under the hood of your car. either way works. and also, you wouldn't necesarily see burn marks or anything broken, i had a couple that didn't work, and you couldn't tell just by looking at them.
would a car battery work? i thought these neons need like 5000 volts
