I removed a piece of the side molding on my 1998 z24 and the color doesn't seem to be distorted. Near where the front of where the piece was, around the edge, there is a line that is clear. Do you guys think this is clear coat or glue from the molding? The line is right where the outside edge of where the molding would be. Finally what kind of adhesive should i use to put the molding back on because if its clear coat i am just going to put it back on.

most likley dried up glue and dirt, get some goo b gone and a towell and rub the sh*t out of it and see if it helps, find a spot not very noticable and hit it with your finger nail see if it rubs off.
