I'm not a big fan of CF/fiberglass hoods for a variety of reasons. First, I hear that they sometimes do not line up right, second - one rock chip in a 500 dollar CF hood and the party's over, and finally I don't want to get into hood pins, etc.
Don't get me wrong - looks great on show cars, but mine is a daily driver. I just don't need the hassle. Plus, I really like my magnetic inserts!
Anyway, I want to use my current steel hood and have a vent built into the driver side of it to feed my RKsport intake. I realize that it will have to be repainted, etc. I have designed what I want in my head, but I have no idea who to call to get a quote. Sheet Metal shop? Body Shop? Welding shop?
Any info much appreciated. If I can get what I'm picturing, its gonna be tight.

do a quick sketch of what you want and you might get some better help
with the design i'm doing i am glassing it but witrh my older design it would have been metal so it really depends on what you want
my hood is stock. i would find something that you are looking for in fiberglass and go to body shops and get quotes. i believe you can look for caldo customs to get real cheap scoops. just find what you want and see who will do it for you at a good price. good luck and show pix when finished.

so you want to do all this work to get a little more air to the filter? why not just buy a cai that routes into the wheel well
well aem makes a cai (cold air intake) that will run to your wheel well. they run like 250
i've got a rk cai extension for sale real cheap....
This months projects: Completion and Installation of Homemade Turbo System, Brakes, Fiberglass sparetire enlcosure and amp rack.
Steve, From what i hear the CAI feeds just as cold air as the Short ram. No point in spending cash on something that you get the same out put on. Do some research as will I and ill get back to you on ur best bet.
