Bigger tires will make your speedometer innacurate. The best way to do it is by lowering the car..

So does bigger rims. If you run a stock 15 inch steelie rim and Upgrade (lol) to 17 inch rims< you gonna have what? A 1 inch thick tire?

Your tires are the most important part of your suspension system. Id plus size your tires, and or a set of fender flares will hind that gap too.

you dont know too much about wheels huh? bigger rim doesnt matter. the tire matters. as long as you keep the same overall diameter, everything will be fine. hence why if you get 17's you typically run a 45 and 18s w/ a 40, so on and so on. (thats just typically cuz there are other options) you can throw on a bigger tire if you want but 1 its gonna throw stuff off and 2 its gonna make your rims look smaller. get a set of springs for a suttle drop

You're gonna have to go with an adjustable air ride. It sucks, but it's the only way out if your kit is as low as mine.

no its not the only way. if you get a good set of springs and get a set of yellows. set them to the correct damping, you will be fine. you wont bounce around and your kit will be safe. anytime you mod a car you have to sacrifice something. when you lower your car you have to know there are some places you just cant go. even with air ride there are still some driveways and stores i cant pull into.

What size are your tires? Maybe you got ones that are too small?

Hmmm...I'll get back to you guys when I actually have some cash to throw at this problem. I think I'd like to go with air ride either way - how's the ride? I'll bet its smoooooooooth!

Bigger rims, also means less performance in most cases unless you have fliks.

Bigger rim, more weight, more rotational mass.

true but that has nothing to do w/ wheel gap. also depending on what rim you get it might not be heavier. even stepping up to a 17in rim your probably only going to slow down by .2 of a second.

Well, actually bigger wheel with low pro tire will be a little better performance in the cornering, most decent rims won't be heavy enough to make even a .2 second difference.

The less sidewall flex you have in corners, the better the grip, the more sidewall you have the more it will want to flex.

With plus size tires you will lose take off speed, but gain a little top speed.
Bumps hit harder on the bigger rims also, well the bumps transfer to your car more with low pro tires and larger wheels.

I suggest a 17inch wheel,(18's look better but are harder to maintain from what I have read) some type of alloy wheel that is lighter.
And I'm not sure what size tire to keep the spedo correct on j-bodies, I'm sure someone here knows.

Why do fires have larger wheel gap then cavi's?Your wheel gap is pretty large.

How much room do you have between front bumper and ground?
