Put the hood on tonight. Its fiberglass and its split in the center and opens up like a clamshell. It’s held on with moroso fasteners. I still have to paint it and do some fine tuning.
Did you make the hood yourself? If so, huge props to you. The only thing I would suggest is to find a less obvious way to 'button it up'
Looks cool as hell though. Great job.
yeah hood was made from scratch. Once its painted you wont see the fastners that much
great job on your own work. when do you plan on having it finished?

Are you pretty tall? Looks like it would be a pain to unlatch those fasteners all the time. And did you have one side longer the other to tuck underneath or how'd you fasten them together? One more thing...how did you support the center of the hood for anything that's pushing down on it?
Looks sweet though. Post pics when its painted.

i havent seen anything like that except on video games
it looks like it will be awesome when it is done and will score big points with judges at shows......and dayrl is right, you should make it less obvious that it opens like that....

I am 6'1" the fasteners are no trouble for me to reach. The hood has a 2" overlap in the center for the join. The hood rests on the same place where the stock hood rested on the top where the wipers were. It’s an exact copy of a stock hood except eyelids were added. We made the mold off my stock hood all the curves are the same.
Hope that answers the questions.
I'm too short to reach that far without having trouble.....haha.....thats why i asked. Looks pretty sweet though.
