I wasn't expecting the best from this place because they are an ebay compay and if the price is cheap, the quality will follow suit. I received the eyelids fairly quickly. There was a slight delay where they had to paint them. When I recieved these in the mail I was shocked. They didn't arrive in a box as expected. These fiberglass lids were mailed in a bubble envelope with no other padding. The paint job was subpar. There is no clear coat and it appears as though they painted the color on with a paint brush, not a spray gun. These were cut from a large sheet and the edges were NOT sanded smooth. I could have done better with nailclippers and sandpaper. The places that would show were slightly sanded and smoothed. So long as it isn't obvious on the outside, I'm fine. Overall I'm happy. I wasn't expecting the best, and they deffinitely didn't send it. These will deffinitely be temporary until I can get some cut from metal and welded onto my hood.
The purpose of this thread? Hoping to ward off others from using this company.
yea no one likes that company, they are terrible. he was here tryin' to defend himself but it didnt work. sorry you didnt see that post, maybe you could of saved money
Thats too bad hope you didn't shell out too much.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
With the "painting" it was $45. I'm just not doing good with the internet. $605 from Alex Alexsevich and $45 from this guy.
By the way, thanks for not flaming and saying "Do a search!" "Posted before!" "I like to flame people while hiding behind a computer screen!!!"
Everyone seems to like bubble mailers on Ebay. A while ago when I bought Xenon's, the guy sent them in a bubble mailer... Yea, that was smart, and they were both broke. I got my money back though
why would you buy these anyways, they just make the car look CHEAP
<a href="http://www.whiteboy.ca"><img src="http://www.whiteboy.ca/images/whiteboysig.jpg" border="0" target="_blank">
Thanks for being an ass, White Boy. I wil deffinitely not be buying from you.
I take that back. I don't appreciate having my car called cheap, though.
i suggest you just start searching these people before you buy. theres a huge thread in general about alex and then that thread about caldo customs. i really dont buy from anyone on the org unless i know them pretty good and they have been on the org for a while, or if its a reliable company like aplus or gravana
I've learned my lesson. I think I'm just going to stop getting things for my car all together, though.

don't give up on modding your car. there's tons of reputable dealers and sellers out there. one thing i do before i buy any part is read as many threads on the subject as i possibly can. i havn't bought something (or tried to buy something) without doing as much research as i can. don't let 2 bad apples stop you from making your car look hot.
and honestly, im going to have to agree with whiteboy... stick on eyelids (imo) look bad. personally, i would have just waited until you got the metal ones welded to your hood.
it is really crappy that they are very low quality eyelids though... if someone's only going to charge $45 for something, it's their own fault for not making much money on it, but they should still do a quality job.
I can't take them off for awhile, my grandfather put them on while I was asleep and was really proud to help me with my car. I would feel terrible.
Just to let everyone know i bought from Caldo and glassed and molded mine to my car. For $29 i wasnt going to complain at all. It did take me a whole weekend to glass them to my cf hood and sand, fill with bondo, sand to get it smooth. Then came the primer. I still need a little more work but overall i was happy with what i got. Remember you pay for what you get.

I think mine was well worth it for $29 shipped to my door.
so yopu just filling in the void with bondo? damn i hope you enjoy the cracking that will happen 1st time you close your hood.
i bought a pair from caldo customs too, the picture he has is from IZN TRBO's car and they looked tits, so i bought some.......
same thing, sh!tty ass paint and flimsy product, feels more like cardboard more than "fiberglass"
i was pissed. they're really nice guys though, just a terrible product.
tomorrow or wed. we're molding my eyelids on and then making some functional scoops...
what would you guys suggest we used to mold the eyes on with if bondo is not a good idea?

Hey CERTSFIRE,
CAN YOU READ SERIOUSLY.
DID I EVERY SAY I JUST USED BONDO. NO I DONT THINK SO.
As i stated above.

so i doubt it will crack, being all fiberglassed to my hood. I used the cloth and the liquid and hardner.
PLEASE BEFORE YOU POST, CERTS, JUST READ WHAT OTHER PEOPLE RIGHT
HROTHGAR,
If you cant weld in new pieces just glass it to your hood. What i mean by glass is fiberglass. Lay that on thick with the cloth and the glue, just sand the down to get the rough edges out of the way, then put a THIN, as i state, a THIN layer of bondo over top of it so you can sand it smooth.
BONDO IS NOT made to mold anything, its just there to smooth stuff out. Since fiberglass is very hard to sand.

thats funny because thats not even their product on his car
heres how i did mine.
I cut the hanging pieces off each of mine, so it would align perfect with my hood. Did not screw it down underneath. I taped in a few spots and put something underneath so the eyelids wouldnt hang. Then i glassed it in a few area, enough to hold it up there. I let that dry, then i pulled off the taped, and i fiberglassed those spots. Waited to dry. I then fiberglass the whole eyelids on top of the hood and underneath the hood a few teams to make it thick. I glassed it a few times getting the spots i missed. I think used 60 grit sand paper on the glass to smooth it out and the edges. I then applied the thin layer of bondo on top and bottom of the hood. I let that dry. Then i sanded that with 80 grit until it was smooth. Then i pulled out some 320 and 600 grit. thats how it stands now.

well, when i found the pictures on ebay i was a little upset. but its not the first, second, nor the third time this has happened. so i was quite used to it by then. after letting him know who i was on the org, he had asked me if it was ok. i says "sure". about 2 months ago i had ran across his ebay auction and looked at his feedback. i was very disappointed and told him that he needs to make sure his customers are little bit happier 'cause they are going to automatically assume that i am representing you as a company. if he makes someone mad, they tend to have a bad taste in their mouth after seeing my car on other ads, or reading something i say on the net or org. he replied and said thanks for the information and thanks for letting him continue using my picture. i just wanted to get that clear so nobody gets upset with me.
(side note) my eyelids are welded on, and my hood cowl is off of a fiberglass hood. he had photochoped a black line where the eyelid would be if they were his product i guess.
now back on topic. im sorry that had happened to you. that really sucks about your grandfather. i could only imagine how you must have felt when you woke up to see that. man thats hard. i wish you luck in the future and just ask us if you feel something is not right before purchasing. you can always shoot me an email if you ever have any questions.

use duraglass not filler (bondo)
might be easier just to use sheet metal and do em yourself. especially if you have a metal hood...
if some sort of fiber material hood, then just glue the metal and fill it in with fiberglass like tigers hair.
sucks it happend.
I've been there with that guy except my eyelids had the paper stuck to the paint because they were packed wet...and I had to do alot of trimming...I emailed him and he said he would refund me the $15 for the paint. Well after about a month I recieved a check. So I go cash it and it's from canada so I only got $11......I left him positive feebback because I didn't want him giving me negative feed back because my feedback score is 100%. I didn't want no a$$hole messing that up....I repainted them and they look 100% better. Just using them until I order my hood this weekend....Sorry to heard he got you too....
