How to remove polishing compound?
Thursday, August 11, 2005 12:00 PM
I got a polished ecotec cover the other day and it has what I thought was blue paint in a couple of the recessed areas on top, but turns out to be leftover polishing compound. Does anyone know what I can use to strip this out (besides polishing it because I don't have the equipment) ?

Thanks!

Steve

Try a little squrt of brake kleen in should do the trick nicely and shouldn't harm the polished areas. It wasn't clear coated was it? if so you may not want to use the break kleen it could hurt the clearcoat but if its bare metal your fine.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

Thanks Jackalope - You may just be the most helpful bastard in this org!

I need brake cleaner anyway for my brake painting project, so I get a bonus!

actually id just use water , then wipe the whole cover down

the brake clean might be alittle to harsh , and take the just waxed feel out of it
