I have a 97 Sunfire 2.4L. I am currently wanting to get these projectors
http://www.hidplanet.com/package.html . Its the Valeo kit. But after emailing the company this is the response :
Our HID Packages come with the hardware and electronics for a retrofit.
You would have to make a wire harness to tie in the HID System to your
existing wire harness. You would need to make or buy a wire harness that
accepts a 9007 input and switches battery power to an output where you
would connect the ballast connectors.
I am hoping IZN TRIBAL can put them in the housing but as far as getting them wired in the car and working i need help! Does anyone know how to fit the d2's to my stock harness or how much work it would take to do this? If anyone has any info that could help me or if someone would be able to make a wire harness for me i would greatly appreciate it! If i left an important detail out let me know.
As far as wirin them up, IIRC, you will lose your high beams (like you are going to really need them with HID), but it would just be a matter of splicing into the low beam power wire on the existing harness.
IZN TRBL should be able to get those in, time allowing of course. Best bet, fire him an e-mail and see where that goes. Chances are though, that he may post a reply and letcha know for sure.
yea, i was his first source in finding an answer about HID's. the thing is i have no idea about HID's and how they work. i can put a projector in just about anything, but as for wiring up ballasts and HID kits, i have no idea as to where to start. i know gary (wootburgers) knows quite a bit about HID's and how they work. he was explaining to me about most of it over the phone and i was like
. but it was a good idea to post this in here. im sure someone here can help. maybe we will all learn something.

I don't know much about it really. just the absolute basics hehe. I know it can be done, but I'm not sure how to connect the d2s wired kit to the car, I think its done through spade connectors but without ever seeing the kit in person or trying to install it I can't say for certain. I talk to DrPaul84 a lot when it comes to HID, he and another buddy of mine have helped me immensly when it comes to this stuff.
My kit is a little different than the one Chris wants. Mine is already wired for 9007 and all I have to do is swap out the 9007 wired HID bulbs with d2s connectors and bulbs. (as far as I know.. I haven't tried it yet, but i'm 99% sure this will work.).. but it should be possible to take a d2s kit and make it work with the car.. i'm just not completely sure what all you need to make it happen though.. but for the price that site has it listed, I have to imagine that it's a lot cheaper than going the route I went.. I spent a small fortune on this conversion so far, lol.
Well, I think i am going to go talk with my friends grandad Friday and see if he would be able to do it. He works on cars 24/7 and has been doin it for like 100 years. He has a mustang with a HID projector kit and i will talk to him about it and hopefully he can help me.
I think this is the spade connector you were refurring to just in case someone on here wants a look. Its figure C i think.

Thanks for trying to help out and im sure there will be a solution to this soon enough.
Well, i think i might have found a solution to this problem. The company said i just needed a wiring harness and after posting at ontariofires, FlipSpeed gave me this website
http://www.xenondepot.com/product.php?product_id=50 . Im guessing this would be what i need?
That looks like it should work. Direct plug into the harness, no cutting/splicing...
so give me the rundown. you plug an HID kit to you car, then you plug this to your HID kit, then you plug this to you light bulb? and you tell them what light bulb it will be? even H1-H4's and 9004-9007's? that is amazing. and it's only 40.00. if all of that is true and will work, then this has to be the best bet. i think i'd wait till dr.paul sees this first. get his opinion and probably go with that. good luck man.

That wont work unless you cut some wires. I know since I had a xenon depot kit before. The connectors on the wiring harness are different. You would have to cut some wires in order to make them work.
The xenon depot bulbs have two wires coming out of the bulb unlike a real D2S bulbs which has no wires coming out of the bulb. That harness is built so that you can use it with there own rebased bulbs not D2S bulbs.
You would need to get a 9006 plug and cut the 2 wires from the harness and plug them into the 9006 plug. Then you will be able to use them with the (2) Hella LVQ-212 G3 Ballasts that you get from the kit on hidplanet.com

Dont sunfires come with 9007 bulbs?
If so, the 9007 harness from Xenon Depot will work. You may have to ask for the 9007 wiring harness for a D2S kit though but I'm pretty sure they're all the same.
Their harness is not built to be used with their own rebased bulbs. It doesnt even connect to the HID bulbs. It plugs directly into your 9007 plug and the ballasts. If you look at the pics below they are same ballasts for the XenonDepot D2S kit and XenonDepot kits with the rebased bulbs. The only difference is the plugs used.
Philips/Hella LVQ-212 Ballasts with plugs for rebased bulb...
Philips/Hella LVQ-212 Ballasts with D2S plugs
I have the XenonDepot 4300k D2S HID kit on my car which consist of:
- Philips 4300k D2S Bulbs
- Hella LVQ-212 Gen 3 Ballasts (which are the same ones that HID planet sells)
- Philips LVQ-212 Ballast Enclosures
- 9007 Wiring Harness
Everything is plug and play. No need to cut anything. The harness comes with all the relays and the power wire that connects directly to your battery.
Here is a link to my S2000 projector retrofit.....

The harness wil work. I have them on my car. I'm sure you remember my S2K retrofit/HID conversion post.
Xenon Depot has a wiring harness for each type of bulb. The harness has 2 types of plugs/connectors: 1 connects to the ballast and the other connects to the bulb plugs.
Ok, so if i get the Valeo pacakge which consists of:
(2) Valeo Projectors
(2) Hella LVQ-212 G3 Ballasts
(2) D2S HID Bulbs
(2) D2S Bulb Adaptors
(2) Ballast Covers/mounts
(2) Ballast connectors
Then all i need to get is the wiring harness for the 9007 which should be plug and play? Im pretty sure you said this up there im just double checking so i dont order the wrong thing.
