I'm looking at getting coilovers for my car but I'm not sure how low my body kit will sit once I get them ... so what I'm looking for is pictures and how much space people have between there kit and the ground ... my car would only sit like 2 or 3 inch off the ground and I'm just wondering how many people drive around that low and don't hit... any help would be great and NO FLAMING lol
What type of sides are those?? where did ya get them, and how much????
Seeing as though you have the Evo kit i'd assume it would be quite low, almost like the Drift Kit, but with coil-overs you can adjust the ride height so it shouldn't be too bad. My advice would be to stay away from speed bumps, pot holes and steep driveways/curbs. Other than that there shouldn't be a problem. See what everyone else thinks though.
Jeremy the sides are from the Evo5 kit ... mesh I had to put in myself but they came with my kit so i'm not really sure how much they would cost.
Alex ... so far I have done good at staying away from those made one mistake going into a parking ramp but i have been doing really good ... I just want to get rid of some wheel well space
I honestly think you should get straight springs instead of coilovers. Yes, with coilovers you can adjust how high you want it but it's a pain to get them all at the same height and the spring rates aren't usually that great. I think having a body kit and being lowered, a better spring rate would help you out more. Also, no matter how low you are, a good supporting Strut/Shock package. If you don't have a good shock absorbing setup, you will have more of a likely chance to scrape your kit if you hit a hard pothole.
I'm guessing your kit is fiberglass, so you especially don't want that thing to touch the ground.
If I were you, I'd invest in the Eibach Pro-Kit...a mild drop (I believe 1.4 inch drop all around). It will also give you a nice enough drop to if you want to put bigger rims on, you can fit them fine with no rubbing issues.
If you have any questions, just ask. Good luck in your decision.

right, no matter what you choose make sure you get quality struts. get the appropriate struts for whatever you choose so it will absorb the impact and you wont be bouncing around hitting your kit on the road
Ok thanks guys ill look into that kit you talked about NJHK

No problem. Remember, if you have more questions in the future, you can contact me or just post in the suspension forum.
Good luck.

well if you do really wanna co with a coilover set up i would suggest either the tein set up or the rksport set up, both will give you the drop you desire and also very adjustable. bit pricey but you do get what you pay for both run about a grand, however i have never used them. however coil overs are kinda simple i though to measure up on all 4 corners tape measurer does the trick when i did mine 4 times

I agree. Those are the only 2 coilover setups I'd pretty much go for.
