This year before it gets the paint, the handles are coming off as well as the side moldings. I am going to make carbon fiber LS sport lips and I already have the carbon hood. I also have a carbon front badge, carbon b-pillars and the RK sport bezel for the back. I'll eventually take apart some altezzas and line them with REAL carbon fiber. For now I will run tinted stock tails. I'll be using LS rims until I can afford 17" trak lites all the way around to match my drag rims.
Oh and...... got intercooler?
Very subtle, very clean.... yet very out there and different.

I love everything you said you were going to do...but the paint color
I don't know about that to be honest? It looks good though and I think you'll have a unique ride and all but just not sure if I'd go with that color.
Love your idea though about the carbon fiber accents and all, that is perfect and will look amazing! Good luck with it and maybe I'll change my mind once I see the color actually on the car?

. I know that not everybody likes pink. It is one of those love/hate things. If you read my last post, my reasoning was this:
With a motor build-up like I've got, I should be pushing over 400 hp at the wheels once all of the tuning has been taken care of. I've got drag wheels, a roll cage and plenty of weight reduction. The set-up should drop me into the 11 second range with ease although only real track time will tell. So why pink? Imagine getting smoked in your dad's Cobra Mustang by a little pink Cavalier. The blown faces would be well worth it. Not only all that, but I just want to see some new ideas go through in the J-body scene. Who knows? Maybe it will catch on.
One thing that I forgot to list is that the stock mirror bases are going to be carbon fiber wrapped also. Again, real... no fake stuff.

I think it looks geat, and im sure that once you paint it, some people are gonna start liking it, more pink J's might even pop up. I know mine is gonna have a drastice color change to pink, but later on since I just painted mine about 1 month and a half ago.
MY OPINION OF THE COLOR=
Buuuuut, It's your car. Do what you want.
If it's a very deep pink, I think it won't look too bad, especially with the carbon fiber. As long as it's not a pastel pink, it should be sweet.
As for the engine build, I can't wait to see that.

Everyone else, thanks for the comments! I'm starting to get a little psyched as the motor is nearing completion. I talked to Karo for a little while the other day and he convinced me to drop the compression down to 8:1 and raise the boost to 20psi. To even out the bottom end I'm raising the nitrous jets to 75 hp and am going to let it spool to 5psi before they stop.
GOOD STUFF........... this set-up should put me closer to the 450-500 hp range.

Don't like the idea whatsoever...and it's not b/c I'm unsecure with my sexuality, but in all honestly, I don't think I'd roll a pink Ferrari if someone handed me the keys.
Sure, it'd be funny when a cobra got smoked by a pink Cavalier, but you're still the one DRIVING a pink Cavalier. Only if it were a girl car or you were gay, I think. Otherwise, "meh..."
Pink is just another color, just like black or red. the old fashioned idea that pink is for girls is something that has to go. Just because someone decided to say pink is for chicks hundreds of years ago doesnt make it a fact. So if u see a chick in a blue car does that mean shes masculine? i dont think so. Fact: A color is a color and thats it, they dont discriminate gender or sexual preference. IMO that idea is completely wrong. I see the color pink just like I see orange, neon green, and all those bright colors, and i think it looks great. oh and one more thing, chicks love pink cars, ive seen it first hand (my friend owns a pink celica).

At the end of the day, I am still the person driving the pink cavalier. You are missing part of it though. If it was just a pink cavalier, no... I wouldn't do it. The fact of the matter is that it is a drag car getting by on the street.
The whole premesis behind this car was never what the body looks like. IT'S WHAT IS UNDER THE HOOD. I've been driving around a show-piece for the past year with almost nothing in the engine, and it bores me to death. This time around the build was focussed on the engine. I am even painting the car with the engine in mind. Like I said, I could have gone the sleeper route, but that doesn't suit me. I am an attention whore. I picked the one color that you could paint on a clean car and make it look very good, but weak.
Need I remind you........ 20 lbs of boost on an H/O motor............
