Front clip

Now this is something im just looking into now, after a pretty bad failure with the electric suicide hood kit.. Dont ask, it was returned and i got most of my money back, less S&P.

So i got a set of fiberglass fender, fiberglass hood, and a GT front bumper. How would you go about connecting them all, and still allow the whole piece to tilt foward?

I think im gonna have to modify the bottom of the door egde to by the skirts for clearcance.

What do you think?

When you say whole piece, do you mean just the hood, or have the entire front end tilt forward?

I think he means the whole front end....And if done right, that would probably be awesome.....Later, Jay

Correct. The whole front would flip foward, Hood, fenders, bumper, all of it.

Anyone tried this yet, im in need of some suggestions.

a lot of reinforcement, and a scissor hinge. glass all the pieces together and remove the inside mounting on each piece. (whatever sticks in after the outside is all smooth so that you don't catch on anything when it tips forward and looks better.) you can use a latch at the back of the hood near the windshield or on both sides to reduce flex while driving, or I would use hood pins that can be secured tight.

i dont see how the whole front can be taken off. it seems that the front fenders are connected to the skirts.

Look carefully at the top of the front part of the skirt, there is a line. Instead of having the fender comeoff in the stock location, It was modified. The skirt extends the whole length, while the back section of the fenders are edged higher.

Well, im still looking for the hinge im gonna use, But i figured out how im gonna lock and unlock the whole front piece.

Ill take pics of the Locks later, im still in bed.
