I own a sign shop and just bought a 98 sunfire. I figured i would dress it out some and add some flare to it. I noticed that they seem to have some nicer looking body kits(in my opinion) for 03 up sunfires. What i wondered was if the 03 and up fenders, hood, body kits will bolt up to the 98. I have heard all 95 up sunfires are the same chassis wise just the designs are a lil different. Just wanted to make sure before i bought some of these items since im currently looking for a new or used body kit 1st... Thanks in advance for any replies.... David (David's Signs)
im almost positive that 98 and 03+ wont work but thats only what i have heard from reading around on the org....there are some people on here that know all about that stuff so about noon tomorrow you will have all the answers to your questions.

on the sunfires there are some diferences...none that can't be changed though...the fenders are the same but the hood bumper and headlights are all different....along with the rear bumper and rear tail lights and filler plate. Someone else will have to comment on how the lights will be different than just looks because I think the 98 has only 1 bulb and the 03 style has 2 bulbs

You can interchange the bumpers no problem.
Front:
- bumper
- headlights
- parking lights
- fog lights
- fenders (not sure on this one)
- hood
Rear:
- bumper
- taillights
- trunk lid
- trunk panel
I believe that is everything you need to swap the front and/or rear bumpers to an '03+. Don't hold me to it though, I am just going from my memory of things I have read about this topic. Anyone please feel free to correct me, the last thing I want to do is give out the wrong information. 
ok, 100% accurate swap info:
front swap:
headlights, hood and bumper. the fenders are the same from 95-05, so no need to change them. direct bolt up, the only thing you really need to do is change the wiring for the headlights (im not sure about the crush guard, i'd swap it just to make sure).
rear swap:
bumper, tail lights and trunk panel. no need to swap the trunk lid, that's the same from 95-05, just change the plastic panel and you're set. it's a direct bolt up, no modification needed.
crush guard is different

Ok, so if im understanding you guys right... If i choose to buy a body kit for an 03-up it will bolt directly up if i use 03 up fenders.. Same with rear bumper will bolt up but will need to change taillights? This is kinda new to me guys so bare with me. Im use to the big 4x4 dodge ram 1500 so this is a totally new venture to me.. I almost feel like im on the ground after jumping down out of my truck. I know what i want to do with this car just dont know if it can be done, thats why im turning to you guys for info that im sure has been told a 1000 times... Just hoping you will be nice enough and have the patience to tell it 1001. Thanks again for the answers as this is very very helpful. Also i have open ears for anyone who has any ideas for appearence and things to do to this car. Its stock as can be right now, but it will be a rolling billboard for my sign shop so i need it to really catch some eyes...Thanks again... David
the 03 rear you have to change the tail light , and the trunk filler panel
so your saying you can use 03+ parts on a 1997 too?

no need to change the fenders, they are the same from 95-05. keep the ones you have (unless you want to buy aftermarket fiberglass fenders).
now can i add the 2003 headlights and front bumper on a 97 with out changing the fenders and hood or what?

have to change the hood, latch, striker, plate the latch bolts to also...fenders can stay the same...you will also need the turn signals and bumper markers

well the reason why i want to do the upgrade is because of the headlights and the taillights also the body kits. because if i would stick with my 1997 option it probley take me awhile to do the headlights and taillights.

While we're on the subject, how about a Cavalier swap rear ie 95-02 for example, theres just so much more for tail lights than the Sunfire, and i really do like their tail lamps. Also, is there a way to keep the trunk filler, cause it would be interesting to see Cav tail lights then this lit up Pontiac on the rear above the license plate.

well i just want to know if i can buy the 03+ tails and keep my stock rear bumper.

cav tails won't fit on the sunfire 2door...the sunfire 4 door has the same rear as the cav though...and if you swap tails on the sunfire 2door you have to swap the trunk filler panel and rear bumper

but what is so different from the stock 1997 and the 2003 bumper? do you got any picture for both of them to show me the differents?
