I don't believe so. True HID kits are much more complicated. These things are just bulbs that in fact may burn so hot that it could melt parts of your headlight.

Don't quote me on this though

what it sounds like is, you bought projectors. a projector is a housing with a lens that focuses a light source into a controlled beam and reduces glare.

the best way to improve your lighting is to buy hid's. HID's are light bulbs that have a current running through them that instead of heating a fillament,(correct me if i'm wrong) creates an arc much like that of a welder ( really bright light). regular bulbs heat up a filament inside a halogen filled bulb. i dont care how "xtreme" or "super white" the halogens are, they dont come close to the light output of a HID bulb.

basically your HALOGENS coupled with projectors (i've read many complaints) will look nice but will not light up the road that well in rain/snow. get DS1 or DS2 HID's depending on what your projector accepts.

i'm interested in getting some projectors too, but no one makes them yet for the 03+ cav.

^^ Get a retrofit.

IZN TRBL does retrofits. I had him retrofit a Hella d2s 90mm projector into a stock housing.

I've heard that the projectors in those aftermarket 95-99 headlights are crap, even with HID, but i've never seen them in person so I'm not really sure... just going by hearsay. I wonder if you couldnt fit a higher quality projector into the housing though?

If you got the lights off of E-Bay good luck man the projector lens it self sucks in those so even if you get HID's they will still suck. Go back to stock get HID's or do a retro fit like w00tburgers said.

Whats a retrofit

If I ordered some angel eyes (just the filaments themselves or whatever they are) and some projectors, would I be able to fit them in my 04 Sunfire myself? I have xenon bulbs (I'm aware that HID's are far far brighter.)

Well if it isn't the man himself. IZN, if you were to ship to me a pair of angel eyes and a pair of projectors, is it possible for ME to install them in my 2004 Sunfire, without a ridiculous amount of fabrication?

Thanks,

Matt

IZN, I have the same questions, only for a 2001 Cavi. What kinda wiring set up is needed, does your kit provide this??

Thanks for your response.

--Sorry If I'm Thread Jacking-

hey just got an idea, this might've sort of been done before.
well here it is:
retrofit a pretty nice sized projector coupled with bi-xenon (hi/lo beam) HID's into the turn signal area (where the circular amber lens goes) sort of like this (minus the lcd T.V)

then keep the headlight but replace the bulb with a yellow bulb. if needed, add side marker turn signals to keep it more DOT legal ( i don't know that removing your turn signal is that legal) is this too ricey or does it have any potential. i thought of this because this retrofit is not as hard as the others. Since the turn signal housing is perfectly circular it should be easier to mount the Projectors.

thats exactly what i did for woots projectors as you can see in this picture....

but rather than keeping it as a driving light, i kept it as a turn signal so he would still have "front" turn signals.

nice projectors IZN, your conversions look amazing. i would have them retrofitted through you, but my only problem is this is my daily driver, and i wouldn't get too far with missing headlamps.. How hard was it to/how did you mount the projector inside of the main headlamp assembly compared to the turn signal projector? (if its a trade secret or you don't want to reveal it then thats alright, i totally understand). again, props to the awesome work. i need to buy some extra headlamp housings so i can have you customize mine, that would be so sweet. I haven't seen one J-Body in my area with Proj. oh yea IZN, you kept the turn signal projector as a turn signal!?!?!?! aren't the projectors pretty expensive?

retrofitting involves hacking up your stock housings a little bit gotta drill for mounting pointspossibly cut some of the shield, depending on what projectors you get and how you fit them into the housings.

I myself am about to order from www.hitplanet.com getting a package deal, their Bosch HID Kit is a great deal 370ish for everything you will need except a wiring harness which is about 30 bucks unless you want to do it yourself and know how to solder.

That beng said, im ordering a package from there, and will hopefully do the retrofit thanksgiving week, the headlights wont be 100% done till hopefully xmas if all goes smoothly, got a lil supprise for you guys, but will put up pics when the hids are installed atleast then the rest can come later.
