has anyone got or known someone with the wide body kit from winksonline.com? is it a good kit? i heard somewhere that it didnt fit for @!#$. if this kit isnt worth a damn would anyone know someone in GA that could make a wide body kit for me?
dude that looks like ass from that pic. jus my .02 but really they could have at least done what other companies do to sell product and make the car look decent. also a true wide body kit isnt just 4 peices(2 front fender + 2 rear quarters) it is more like 10-16 depending on the amount of redesign. (front bumper, front fenders, door panels sideskirts, rear quarters, rear bumper, and maybe a spoiler or if its a real good one also a hood.) maybe with a good amount of molding and what not with those it might look decent. but yeah anyways i live in beaufort sc saw your from ga where at? anyways sorry for the flame later bro

what are you talking about?? the widebody kit dosent just get slapped on and you say its done, you gotta make it blend in. and i cant say ive ever seen a kit that comes with a widebody hood pice. or skirts for that matter. or even front or rear bumpers. i think if you seen that, it was all custom and hand done.
RIP Kasey Burleson, and get well soon Chris Shelly
well, aparenty im missing something, cuz i dont see a pic, but contact Orlandomon, he is making replica widebody kits of the Winks ones. He's making one for me. alot cheaper, and hes located in Texas i believe

you've never seen a supra wide body? or a gen 2 mr2 wide body? what about a celica gt300 wide kit?wrx?? and by hood i didnt mean it would have a custom hood i meant some places may throw in a hood at a discounted price... but there are quite a few wide body kits out there that are COMPLETE kits not just the fenders and quarters because most have a widened front bumper at least to complement the aerodynamics which is the whole thing behind a wide body kit is keepin the car on the ground and having better traction. looks are just a secondary compliment. id rather spend money on z3 or an actual fender rather than add weight and drag to a car that isnt producing over 3-400 hp. jus my opinion though.
well is there any other company that makes a wide body kit for an 05 cavalier?
oh an EA Young i live in woodstock, just north of atlanta.
Ya the car is mine, I had the panels screwed to the car for fitment. It looks nothing like that anymore since most of the widebody is now metal. Winks asked if he could use my pic and I said sure, its in no way finished or even started in that pic I sold the front panels on ebay and the rears were cut up but never used.
none that i know of. but if that guy really has gone out of business then there is no wide body KIT you would have to make your own. anyways i just provided a little info into making your own so yeah.if you wanna make your own you really oughta think about it before you do a wide body because if you do that and leave your wheels the same as they are now they are gonna look funny inside a wider fender. if you get wider rims and tires then your gonna slow your self down unless you have some good torque to pull the extra weight and traction. if your not worried about power loss or gas mileage loss then continue and figure out what type of wide body you wanna get do you want one that has a good amount of ups for racing or do you want one more set up for show? show ones usually blend better with the body while ones set up more for racing will be hollow at the backside of the front fenders and usually dont have door panels besides what the stock ones are. also any widebody kit that is designed should utilize at least a bumper widened as well to accomadate the fenders and increase the aerodynamics of the car. these are just a few ideas you could implement into your wide body. its a couple good things to think about at least
Thats how mine was done, the bumpers were cut in half and widened and the skirts are stood off the car. Ill be running wheel spacers cuz the wheels are a good 2" inside where I would like them to be. I ended up grinding off the original fender lip and the widebody lip is about 1/2 the width of the original size so I could push th wheels out as far as possible.
Not really sure what a widebody would do racing wise except for adding more weight, most widebodies are used on showcars.
not really most jgtc cars are wide bodied it has alot of performance such as extra induction to cool the brakes, added downforce for cornering, also some of the duct work that leads out at the rear allows for heat to dissipate out of the wheel well helping cool the tires a little bit. also as i stated they can run wider wheels and tires allowing for more contact patch to make traction allowing for faster speeds. dont you guys read sport compact car or super street or import tuner or modified magazine or anything along those lines? true some have a bunch of hondas but there is some tuners out there that can do hondas and pull good power. hell look at the takata nsx that runs in the jgtc gt500 class that car freakin rips. i believe it took first in this years season. actually one of the above mentioned mags featured an article on wide bodys a few months back so yeah. oh and actually most good wide body kits are made of either carbon fiber or fiberglass or abs plastic which all three are lighter than metal
im curious z2flip4 you got any pics you might be able send me of your set up? how far along are you in it? kinda like to get an idea of that. anyways i got yahoo and msn they are on my profile. later brah
^^the winks widebody is the same width as stock where it meets the wheel well. mines also the same as stock in the wheel wells, but it doesnt look bad. if it was wider on the bottom also, most bumpers would look weird.
I got the molds forsale if anyone wants them.. and lowfire.. quit bein a bitch
and for those that can not read the main page.. the site is closed for right now
its not a true widebody kit if it goes back to stock width actually that should be considered a different type of custom fender like a z3 or f1 or x1 fender is. this however would be a stick on that would be molded onto the fender. true widebodies are complete panels that are wider or longer than stock ALL the way through. z2flip4 is there any rub issues with your door panels? looks kinda close i dont suppose it would have much rub for regular opening doors. that looks alot better than the fender additions. are you gonna try and make a complete panel maybe out of carbonfiber? that way you would loose all the metal weight you would be gaining a little bit of time if you race it at all. also did you widen your front bumper? and looks like theres a little bit of a gap at the rear of the front fender. anyways if i ever decide to do a custom wide body i will be pushing at least 300 out of the 4 banger ecotec engine. but if i do any of that i will definatly integrate racing into it. anyways keep up the good work on your kit flip hope you will post some pics once its done? btw how far are you in the kit? alright later
z2flip4- the progress looks real good so far. i can't wait to see it finished. you do great work
